Kickdown Door Stop - Heavy Duty Door Stopper with Kick Down Step - Foot Operated Door Holder for Outdoor and Commercial Use

This thing is the best. We put it on our laundry room door so we could block out much of the sound of the washer and dryer, while also leaving a gap for the cat to squeeze in and get to his litter box. It's been on for months and months now, being used frequently, with no issues. I only wish it was available in all white. We have the flip-down type of stop on our pantry door, which I also love, but in some circumstances, those don't work...while this kind DOES. For example, our laundry room door swings inward, and we need to operate a stopper from the hallway side. The flip-down type applies pressure in the direction that the door wants to swing *open* and therefore needs to be installed on the "back" of the door. This type, however, applies DOWNWARD pressure, which prevents the door from swinging in EITHER direction. Another example, something I'm thinking about right now....I want to put one on my bathroom door, which is constantly swinging open and knocking into me while I'm getting ready. (My cat freaks out if I close the door when he's in there, locking him in with me...AND also when he's NOT in there with me, blocking him from getting to me. So simply closing the door winds up causing an annoying "problem.") The flip-down type would work in this case, but I'm a tad worried that type might accidentally fall down one day while the door is shut or something and lock us out of the bathroom by preventing the door from opening. This one just feels like a safer bet in that application. (Something to consider....If you have a decent gap under the door, I suppose you could slide something under the door to push the stopper bar upward, allowing it to open.) But another advantage of this type is that there's nothing to potentially trip over, and that's gonna be an issue in this particular scenario. I'll also add that we ordered a cheaper version of this, like a knock-off, and we could tell immediately that it wasn't gonna cut it. So we returned it and ordered this one, and again, could immediately tell a big difference straight outta the box.

This door stop is really nice. It is easy to install and it functions great. I am very happy with this purchase as it has made life easier.

I have yet to install it but upon examination I can tell that the quality of construction is good, it is solid and operates smoothly. I don't anticipate any issues with it.

Our garage entry door has auto-close hinges (which I am assuming is current code). I am also assuming that an armload of groceries, etc. weren’t driving that decision. This door stop is my work around and is doing a fabulous job so far. Installation was easy due to the included template for marking door. Precise (and we all know that not everything is). Even so, there’s also some built-in flexibility. Simple to lock into door open position (stays put) and easy to unlock, too.

If your town is like ours.... your house must have an auto closing door going to the garage as a code requirement. I have no issues other than when loading or unloading it's a bit of a pain. For FOUR years I have been sticking a twelve pack of sodas against the door when we are unloading groceries' or whatever from the car into the house. The other day we were almost out of soda and the half empty box wouldn't hold the door open. Enough is enough! I did my research and settled on this item. I love that it is made in Europe. It is very high quality and has a template that you use to put on your door and then drill three small holes. Using a Phillips screwdriver or bit install the stop on the door. Took all of 10 minutes and that includes rounding up a drill, a bit and everything. The screws are not huge... I'm not even sure that you really have to drill pilot holes.... but I did because it was easy and I had the stuff to do it. It works perfect and holds the door securely. Just by it's heft and the way it operates it will be enjoyed by myself or whoever owns this home for years to come!

This is a premium quality product which is very robust and is made of strong material. It comes with very easy and clear instructions so it is easy to to install, you just use the template and screw it on the door. The foot control is simple and it was easy for me to use and lock the door to the position I required. It is great if you are carrying heavy or large boxes and you need the door to stay open. It is perfect for the job.
