Amazing speaker, premium sound, better than SONOS
These are amazing! Contemplated buying a Sonos system but opted for the SoundTouch in the end. Friend of mine has the Sonos Play 1, so am able to compare the two. The Bose system offers great functionality, it can used used over Wifi, Bluetooth of Aux-in. This means it can be plugged into a computer (or any other device with an aux, line out or headphone out) for direct input, eg for use as a PC speaker. It can also be used via Bluetooth and pairing is nice and easy. Lastly (and this is really what the speaker was meant for), it can be used via Wifi for which there are several options which I describe below. Setup is easy, I used the app when then searches for the speakers wifi signal. Next you select your wifi network and enter the password (works fine with WPA2). Once setup and connected to the Wifi, there are several options for playback. You can use the Bose app, or various other apps also allow direct streaming without the app, such as Spotify which works using Spotify connect. I generally prefer this direct method, although the Spotify integration into the Bose app also works well. The sound of the speaker can be changed via the app, however there is only an option for bass (no full equalizer). The sound is incredible for such a small unit. Good volume and fills the room nicely. I honestly couldn't believe just how big this little speaker sounds. Now for the fun bit. The speaker has 6 buttons which can be allocated different playback options. For example, a spotify ratio or playlist can be assigned to a button. When you get home, all you need to do is press this button and the playlist will start as you had set it up within Spotify. Now for the really cool part, the speaker is directly logged into the Spotify account (assuming you have premium), and your phone does not even need to be connected or switched on. Other streaming services are also supported, although I haven't tested these. Compared to the Sonos, this speaker is much more flexible due to Aux-in and Bluetooth. This to me is key, because there will come a time when you have a device which is not connected to your wifi (may you have a record player you want to connect, or you temporarily want to use it as a PC speaker, none of which is possible using the SONOS). I also really like the quick play buttons which means your phone doesn't need to be connected all the time. The sound is comparable. Sonos seemed to have slightly better bass, but this is marginal and within 95% I'd say. Side by side there may be a small difference, but listening to this now I wouldn't be able to tell. Both are premium speakers with premium sound quality. In summary, I'd buy this any day over the Sonos.

WHY DID IT TAKE ME SO LONG TO BUY AND APPRECIATE THIS UNIT ???
Bose Soundtouch 10 review, written from the heart after 4 glasses of wine. Don't they say that from the mouth of children and drunks you hear the truth ? Well maybe the 4 glasses of 15% alchohol CHEAP wine influenced this review... judge for yourself. Let me put it truly simply: WHY IN GODS NAME DID IT TAKE ME SO LONG TO PURCHASE THIS UNIT ???? I was getting fed up with listening to my Spotify subscription music on my Sony Mobile phone and was looking for an alternative. At 72 years of age.., things ain't that easy as they used to be, and I had no experience whatsoever with bluetooth or internet connected speakers. So... Amazon UK came to the rescue and I started a wee bit of reserach. I stumbled on a make called Sonos and thought.... that's it... 'ere we go. BUT... thank God, I read all the Amazon reviews I could get my hands on and it became quickly clear that all wasn''t well. No AUX... no BLUTOOTH... strictly WIFI ONLY. While at this time I had no need for either a Bluetooth or AUX connection, life changes and what is not needed today... maybe needed tomorrow. So... the search carried on and I found the Bose units. Having a limited budget the Soundtouch 10 caught the eye. THANK GOD I DID. So... I ordered the unit and prayed. Jumping fwd in time....the Soundtouch 10 has been playing for a several weeks now... and as God is my witness...it has changed my life. I live alone (with 10 cats) and music keeps me sane. Installation went quick and easy... and after set up... it has NEVER ONCE LOST CONNECTION TO MY ASUS RT AC88U Router. The Bose 10 has crisp and clear sound. Bass is good and the overal quality is excellent ! ( I am listening to " Ride ON" from Chirsty Moore as I type this.) Do try it... some excellent acoustic guitar at the end of the track. The mobile phone app works just fine on my Sony Xperia X5. The unit has 6 presets and my favourite BBC World Service News come thru glass clear (I am located in Ireland). Let me sum it up for you... I bitterly regret that it took me so long to appreciate the joy of owing this unit... but do make some allowance for my (advanced) age.. This unit has truly given me more joy than most things I have ever bought and that is the harsh truth. You cannot go wrong with the Bose SoundTouch 10 and it is money you will NEVER regret having spend. I paid hard cash for this unit and this is not a "freebie or discounted" review. I give it 5 stars and if Amazon had 6, it would have given it six. So... there you have it... this is one buy you will never regret...I certainly won't !!! Albert

Fantastic system with usual Bose sound quality
Bought this after looking at several alternatives and given the price point of this I decided to give the Bose a try. Delivery was much slower than expected, especially given it was "expedited delivery" (took a week to arrive). However this is now available on Prime so I must just have car timing. The unit itself is fantastic. Its actually a bit smaller than expected and fits nicely into any space. For such a small unit, I found the sound quality to be excellent with very little distortion when turned up to full volume. Theres also a bass adjustment on the app which is helpful as I found the default setting to be slightly too bass heavy at higher levels. This wasn't an issue for the speaker to handle, however its simply a personal preference. In terms of set up, I was surprised how easy it was. Plugged it in, ran the app on my phone and it updated the software on the Soundtouch. While it was doing this I installed the app on my Mac to access my iTunes library. It was then simply a couple of clicks and theres radio stations stored to the presets and my library all linked up. Very easy and intuitive to set up and use, I really don't think you would find a better interface for a speaker - especially as there is no display on the unit itself. All in all, I am very satisfied with the unit, especially for the price this retails at. I fully intend to purchase another one of these for my bedroom, especially given the fact its a simple one touch process to link them up and have multiroom playing one source to both units.

Pretty good sound for a small package, but not outstanding!!!
As I have predominantly Sonos equipment at home, naturally this unit is always going to be compared with the these. That said, I do miss my old Bose SoundDock and being able to take my music away with me. So I wanted the flexibility of a unit that would be Bluetooth compatible, hence the purchase. I appreciate that the SoundTouch 10 is the entry unit to the range, and it feels like it audibly. That said, the sound it produces is well defined and pretty rich, but it feels lacking in the mid-range and bass to my Sonos Play:3's. I don't own a Play:1 so I can't really compare like for like in the similar price bracket. The lack of a decent Graphic Equaliser feels a lot like a missed opportunity, as this enabled me to give my music far more punch on the Sonos, so the SoundTouch will always be a little more lacking for my tastes. The app feels more considered than the Sonos version and is fairly easy to navigate - not perfect, but better. The remote control is almost surplus to requirements for me, as I control everything through my phone or tablet ... the only real use I can see for it would be if the phone/tablet was tethered to it, and I didn't want to move to change tracks and/or volume. It's early days yet, and this unit already meets my requirements for portability. I'm sure I'll learn to like it more, but it'll always be comparing it to the richer sound from my Sonos setup. Maybe the SoundTouch 30 would be a fairer comparison, but I wasn't planning on spending that much money.

Just get it!
Ok I hummed and hawed over this for ages being 57 and a bit of a thechnophobe I checked out all the reviews for this and about half a dozen others out there , well I have to say it arrived today and I unpacked it plugged it in ,downloaded the app connected to my WiFi let the speaker update its self , then put two of my favourite radio stations and one of my playlists onto three of the six available presets and voila 15-20 mins later I'm sitting back listening to my favourite tunes on an awesome sounding speaker over WiFi , it truly sounds like the bands in the room . Finally I can honestly say that if any one isn't getting the same experience then send it back for a replacement it's simply a faulty unit and don't complain until then cause mines is fantastic thank you Bose one satisfied customer . Just to answer some of the critics out there yes this is a mono speaker and if stereo is so important to you buy a stereo or just get two of these and use the free app to connect them as in my experience the average ear will find this fine if however you have pitch perfect hearing don't bother as nothing is going to satisfy you . OK had this for a little while now so time for an update, yes there are problems with Bluetooth dropping out ocassionally and the whole amazon in UK thing is annoying although it will be resolved I just used the aux to connect to my cheap TV which had poor sound and it was like night and day this little speaker makes an awesome soundbar so I still would give this five stars thanks for reading . Update... Well we finally got amazon music added to the UK and was it worth the wait , I have to say yes the functionality of this product just keeps getting better , finally a product we don't have to replace every time something better comes out just let it update itself thank you Bose.

Perfect on BT broadband
Update #2: Speakers were not the issue (1 star now is 5 stars!). Sky fibre seemed to be the fail point. I've now been on BT Halo for 1 year and the pair of speakers work like a dream, without fail! Update! So, further to loving the speaker I had I got a second one for my birthday this week. And it is shockingly bad how these Soundtouch 10's are sold as multiroom speakers, yet it is almost impossible to get them to play together! Full fiber signal, full lights shining on both speakers (meaning they are connected and working), a dream if played individually....but the moment you add the second speaker.......one of the two makes no sound, whilst lights and app indicate they are both working. No customer support phone number that I can see. And yes, they are connected to the same wifi network, app is also, yet only one of the two works. Really disappointed and currently considering returning both as they simply don't do what they are supposed to :( Superb sound, super easy set up, did software update and it proceeded to happily reconnect to wifi without intervention. We have sonos equivalent speakers at work and I find bose much easier and better to handle. Birthday in 3 weeks so there will be another one joining the one I bought this week

Bose Soundtouch 10
I bought a Soundtouch 20 some months ago and have been really pleased with the sound quality etc and so decided to buy a Soundtouch 10 to extend the system to my living room. I had some doubts about how the sound quality would compare but the Soundtouch10 is superior - beautiful clear tones and solid bass. I was disappointed with the 10 at first, however. I use Airplay to stream from my Mac to the 20, and like to use Genius Mixes. On setup, I could not persuade the 10 to recognise the Airplay stream and finally I phoned the Bose Helpline, expecting a long wait as is common with such services. However, I was connected almost straight away and the problem was soon (sort of) sorted. The 10 will not accept Airplay sources, something that is not made clear in the product description. Everything has to go via the Bose app, which means no Airplay hence no Genius Mixes etc. It will play playlists however, so I have made my own mixes! The Airplay issue is the only negative with this product - otherwise sound and looks great. In fact I regret having paid over ÂŁ200 more for the 20 when in fact two 10s would have sounded and looked better.

Excellent speaker - brilliant for dance teachers!
Brilliant speaker! After battling with terrible hi-fi speakers when teaching dance classes I bought this hoping it would do a better job but was a little reluctant as it's only a small speaker! After using it for several weeks I have been extremely impressed with the speaker! Not only is it small enough to move from room to room and to pop in my bag if needed, the volume is still loud enough to fill a large studio full of 20 kids in tap shoes! The functions all work brilliantly too - I enjoy that you can connect devices via wifi, aux and bluetooth which gives multiple options depending on location! There's no wifi at the studio that I teach at, however, I'm still able to play music via aux or bluetooth! It's also great that it comes with a remote so I can skip tracks from the other side of the room thus saving time in my class! Such an excellent speaker - I couldn't recommend it enough and I'm so glad a decided to purchase as it's made playing music in my classes much easier and more convenient! Very happy customer!

Musica a 360°
Come va?
