This looks cool and the kids love it because of how it looks, but there are several issues. It is made out of very flimsy plastic and so has no weight to it and is easily knocked off (this does mean though it doesn't hurt so much if it lands on your head...). Some extra weight would have nice in the base to help stability, and to make it feel less like a toy. The thin plastic means that the the large amounts of it glow with the light escaping from the LCD screen. The screen is quite bright and doesn't dim so does light up the room at night. The screen is very low quality and makes 1980's calculator screens look high quality. There is no internal battery or memory, so every time you switch the plug socket, you have to reset the date, time and alarm. The date is in the American Month/Day format with no way of changing it. Overall, it is easy for kids to understand and use and they will like it if they don't mind the light at night, but is definitely not worth paying full price for - wait for a sale.

Brought for my son and he loves it, works as it should and is a good addition to his bedroom.
