A MUST BUY!!!! - I am 40yrs old and I purchased this book initially because my fitness instructor recommended me to as I was at my wits end of going up and down in weight on the scale believing that I was eating healthy. Yes I would bring loads of fruits to work to snack on, eat a healthy meal for breakfast, lunch and dinner, however, my snacking time for so called junk was always around 8-9pm in the evening. Now; I have done nearly every diet on this planet, but Jason Vale, has given me a new outlook on eating. Now I don't really care if someone wants to read my review and think that I am just trying to sell something that's not, but I don't often do reviews once I've purchased on desertcart, but I definitely read reviews. I read reviews on this book before purchasing and I was amazed by them, so if my review can help at least one person then I will be happy. When I received the book I was so excited as I was eager to start. My trainer had said to me that I would need to read the book first before starting. Jason Vale also states this in his book several times. The whole reason for you to read the book first is to get you mentally prepared for what you are about to do. The book is an easy read as Jason writes how he speaks, he does not mince his words, he tells you as it is.. very upfront, straight to the point. Lets just say I read the first 80 pages in under an hour and for me that's quick. Now I started the detox on a Thursday not a Monday as most people like to start at the beginning of the week, I wanted to get straight in. To my surprise most of the juices tasted really good, I even had my kids drinking some of them. My first 3 days were great and I didn't suffer from any headaches at all, I think this was because I had stopped drinking coffee for the last 3 weeks, so I wasn't having the withdrawal symptoms that may have been expected. However I did have an obstacle on the 3rd day (Saturday) my son had a birthday party to go to in the evening. I was so scared of what may happen when I went as I really wanted to stick to the detox, so I had a juice before I went and I was actually satisfied. I didn't pick at a thing at the party. (It's all in the mind be strong). Now I completed the 7 day detox which I actually found quite easy , I didn't ever feel hungry as the juices were satisfying and actually made me full. Now not all people will find it easy, but I honestly believe that it really depends on how much YOU want to make a change in your life and maybe your family's life. If you really want it you will purchase this book and get stuck in. Now I know you'll want to know what my stats are at the end of the 7 days so here they are....Morning of day 8: Weight - 16lbs loss, Waist - 3 inch loss, Hips - 1 inch loss. Now I am over whelmed by my results that I am now doing Jason's Turbo -charge your life in 14 days. As I said before I have a new outlook on food especially junk food, and I am now going to make a change to it once and for all. Don't think twice BUY THE BOOK!!!! Thank you Jason Vale Review: Amazing, life changing book. Thank you Jason Vale xxxx - Back in November 2014 I purchased this book after a work colleague recommended it. She'd read the book, bought the juicer & some supplements but hadn't got any further. Up until this time I hadn't heard of Jason Vale, so just out of curiosity I ordered the book. At the time I was on medication for a severely under active thyroid. I had aches, pains and found it impossible to loose any weight so I thought any things worth a try. I started reading the book & just couldn't put it down!! I finished it within a day & was so fired up to try this lifestyle change that I immediately ordered myself a juicer, blended & all the fruits and veggies I'd need for the first few days. If you've never read Jason's books before, his style of writing is very quick & easy to follow - maybe a bit basic for some, but his message about what we put in our bodies & the way it makes us feel really hit home with me. I embarked on the 7 day diet with excitement. I was 43, almost 11 stone (I'm only 5' 2"), looked tired & puffy, ached a lot and had just enough energy to get me through the day. Most of the smoothies are delicious - some of the juices are an squired taste... I have to say, I discovered I really don't like raw beetroot in any of the juices so I skip that ingredient. Other than that it's a really tasty diet!! I didn't have any withdrawal symptoms at all, felt pretty normal the first 2 days. But on day 3... WOW!!! It was almost like I woke up in a different body. My eyes opened to the sound of the alarm & instead of dragging myself out of bed it was like there was a light bulb of energy bursting through my body. My stomach had melted away in my sleep & I could see myself slimming down before my eyes! This amazing surge of energy lasted all day, every day. I slept much better every night too. I was in a much better mood, my skin appeared fresher & all the puffiness in my face disappeared. My body continued to visibly slim every day...but I resisted weighing myself until the 7 days were completed. I managed to loose 7lbs in 7 days without ever feeling hungry - in fact I missed a couple of juices as I didn't feel I needed them. As my results were so good, I decided to follow on with Jason's 14 day Supercharge plan... I continued loosing weight and feeling great. In fact when I had my routine blood test a month or so later my doctor called me into the surgery to say my thyroid had decided to start working again so my medication was reduced. This firmly reiterated to me that I was doing the right thing, and pretty much from that day on I have eaten only whole healthy foods, with lots of juices, smoothies & soups thrown in. Over three months I lost 3 stone and got back into my size 6-8 clothes (pretty good going for a 44 year old mother of 5!). I am writing this review a year after my initial weight loss and can happily say that the weigh has stayed off... I'm still a size 6-8 and am now completely off medication for my thyroid (which I 100% credit to my change of diet - thank you Jason Vale!) My review doesn't end there though... My sister witnessed my transformation & joined in loosing just over a stone (she didn't have that much to loose) My brother in law (who was very over weight lost 47lbs starting off with the 7 day plan & finding he only wanted to eat healthy food after that) As for my husband - he watched myself & family members regain our health and figures but was adamant that he couldn't & wouldn't do it. He couldn't live without 'food', even though I explained to him that it's 'food' that makes the smoothies... You just drink it instead of eating it! He even refused to try any of my juices & smoothies - would turn his nose up at the look & smell with a disgusted look on his face... That was until I ordered a new slow press juicer (from Jason's website) & in the box was Jason's 28 day Superjuice Me documentary (I can't recommend this documentary enough... It explains the reasons why you should give your system a break soooooo well). After watching the documentary he said he wouldn't mind trying a 7 day juice plan, so I dusted off my copy of this book & bought the fruit/veg before he had chance to change his mind!! He needs to loose around 3 stone (maybe 4), suffers with aching knees & ezcema, mood swings & lack of energy. Day 1-4 for him was awful. He didn't feel hungry but had what I can only describe as severe man flu. I think this was mainly down to caffeine withdrawal. Still, he stuck at it and actually really enjoyed all the smoothies & juices (apart from any containing raw beetroot, which I was happy to drop as I don't like it either). By day 5 his skin was amazing, the ezcema was clearing up & his energy levels started increasing. This transformation continued and by day 7 he'd lost an amazing 14lbs and 15" off his body measurements!!! The first thing he said to me was he wanted to do another week!!! So... Week 2... Energy levels increased, mood swings disappeared, skin condition continued to improve and knees stopped aching! He lost a further 6lbs and wanted to do another week!! Week 3 we changed it up a little - smoothie for breakfast, homemade soup for lunch, juice mid afternoon & smoothie for tea. He lost a further 2 lbs and wanted to continue... Week for we changed it again - smoothie for breakfast, homemade soup for lunch, juice mid afternoon & a healthy vegetarian tea. He lost a further 7lbs and 3"!! So in total, in just 4 weeks he's lost 2st 1lb and 18" off his body. He's now happy to continue this way - it's not a diet, it's a lifestyle. He is now happy to try any veggies I put in front of him and actually likes foods he previously hated. It really has changed his lifestyle. I will try & update his progress over the coming weeks/months - it does work for the long term as I have proven, but hopefully reading about my husbands journey may also help a few people too. UPDATE: Husbands 7 week weigh in - total loss so far = 2st 10lbs 😊

Requires some investment, but worth it !
I decided to try this diet as I had recently put on weight when I couldn't exercise due to injury. With a summer holiday fast approaching, I wanted something that would have quick results, to make me feel better and motivate me to keep going. Firstly I will say, that by the time you buy the book, a whole fruit juicer (saves lots of time chopping), the food supplements such as wheatgrass, pro-biotics and spirulina, and the fruit and veg.....it's not cheap. I reckon an initial investment of around £150. Secondly, by the time I'd read the book (as quickly as I could as I was desperate to get started).... I started on day one, and as a busy mum of 2 little boys, I found making 5 juices in a day and cleaning the juicer each time very time consuming. By day 2, I wasn't hungry but I was craving some food so I decided to have 2-3 juices a day and one very light meal (fish & salad). As I was going away, I couldn't do 7 days in a row, so I did this diet for 4 days and lost 5lbs. In additon to the weight loss, I did feel good and my skin had benefited. Apart from a bad headache on the morning for day 2, I felt fine and was not craving anything else or feeling hungry which really surprised me. I was also keen to incorporate some solid food, as I did feel concerned about how my system would react when I started eating again after nothing but juice for days. I want to lose some more weight, so over the next few weeks I will have juice for breakfast and juice around 4pm, and very light lunches and dinners on the days when I am able to make up the juices. I think ongoing I will have juice for breakfast most days as I feel so much better for getting so much goodness, and have been so impressed with how delicious the juices taste. My top tip for the juices with wheatgrass and spirulina in.... the drinks turn green and the smell isn't fantastic, but if you pour the juice into a sports bottle over lots of ice, it goes down a lot better. I may not have done the diet to the letter, but I still lost weight and Jason Vale is correct when he says it will change you forever. I am delighted to have been introduced to juicing and happy to say that I will not just let my juicer gather dust from now on !

Mixed Review - hopefully Ive covered a few questions you may have.
First Id like to advise the cost as no one seemed to have put this down for people who would like to start this programme. I spend £40.00 on the juicer, I already had a blender, £40.00 in the health shop which the 4 items I bought were on buy one get one half price and then £35.00 on food for days 1-3. Some of the items I bought were in packs & had dates on that could be used for days 4-7. I started this plan with a very clear idea in my head what to expect, the book is very well written & you really can't argue with the benefits & the health advise this book covers. I was prepared for the possible headaches on day 1-2 which I did get badly even though I don't smoke, drink, or drink coffee or tea that much to have withdrawals. The one thing the book didn't prepare me for was the taste of the juices. The first juice that I had I really did not like, I then had to have it again a few hours later, it also appears 11 times during the 7 days. So day 1 I had most of this juice, the 2nd go I tried holding my nose while drinking it, while gagging. The other juices were not as bad, however still not very nice to me. I didn't want to give up so day 2 I went out & bought me a plastic beaker with a lid & straw to see if the smell wasn't there would it be easier, it did help I must admit. By the end of day 2 I didn't feel great & all of a sudden ran to the bathroom & was very sick. This is where I decided to end the programme. I don't want to put people off, If you have a more resilient stomach than me & are not as fussy as me taste wise then I think you should give it a go, I was doing this for the health kick more than the weight loss side of things, and if you can stick with it, then give it a go. I didn't feel hungry, I didn't crave food for 2 days like it said you might. I must say that the order in which the book put things is a little confusing, so read it from front to back before you do anything (it doesn't take long to get through) or you won't realise than you should be drinking 2 litres of water a day along with the juices, this was in the Q&A section at the back. Also I wasn't at work while I started this juice plan, it would be a lot more difficult working 8-5pm, making fresh juices every 2/3 hours, the time it takes to prepare, juice & clean all parts of the juicer each time. On day 1 of this juice plan Ch 5 showed a documentary / story of a guy juicing called 'Fat, sick & nearly dead' this really inspires you to juice when you really can see the health benefits. I believe the man guy in the show is doing a book which will be available on amazon soon,he's on twitter also @joethejuicer. So to sum it up, juicing seems great if you can drink the juices, and have time. However for me, it couldn't work. Don't be discouraged, see if you can watch that programme, see what juicing is about, get ready mentally, buy this book and give it a go, I think its a great idea & plan, and what the book tells you that even if you don't take juicing in to your everyday life, keep the book & equipment & do this plan every season for a detox to make you feel better & lose a few pounds 4 times a year.

Worked for me, lost over a stone & no more stomach problems.
I am a 46yr old male who was obese, weighing over sixteen & a half stone, had terrible stomach problems & generally felt really unwell. I hated the way I looked, was totally fed up of feeling ill & wanted to make a drastic change to my lifestyle but needed help/advice. I had previously been advised by a consultant to avoid high amounts of fruit & veg due to a strong family history of Crohn's Disease & because I was showing the symptoms (though sadly without the weight loss). Because of all the soluble fibre in this diet I was a little concerned it could make me worse & was prepared to ditch the plan if this happened. As I really needed to lose weight & had bought a juicer for my daughter a couple of months earlier, I decided to give it a go. The book itself is written in a very easy to read 'coaching' style. The one phrase from the book that that stuck in my mind was the phrase that in the west we are generally "overfed but undernourished", which made a lot of sense to me. I strictly followed the plan, Because I was in the right frame of mind I found this really easy to stick to & didn't feel hungry at all which really surprised me. I lost over 7kg in the 7 day period & had no stomach problems at all. The only issue was bad headaches, which lasted just over 24hrs on day 2. The book states this is due to detox and caffeine withdrawal (I previously drank vast quantities of caffiene in strong tea, coffee & diet pepsi). Basically I've never felt better & continued on with the follow up diet advice given in the book (basically juice for one meal a day, eat healthily & exercise). Now 3x weeks later I am just short of losing a further stone. I'm not missing any of the junk I used to eat/drink probably because I feel fantastic. Also its brilliant when you bump into someone you haven't seen for a while & the first thing they do is comment on how much weight you've lost. PLEASE NOTE: If you are going to follow this, as well as a juicer you also really need a proper blender. A stick blender is not up to the job. You also really need 3/4 supplements to add to the juices & smoothies. They are detailed in the book & also on the authors website where you can purchase them. HOWEVER, I understand he is running a business but I think the prices he charges for the supplements are excessive. I noted the supplements required and shopped for them on Amazon. Much bigger quantities purchased at a much cheaper price. Handy if you going to continue juicing as I still have well over half the contents left after 4x weeks.

Easiest weight loss in just a week !
Hello fellow reviewers, Terry here, i thought you may get some inspiration from my account of the 7 lbs in 7 days plan. I am a 53 yr old male who thought that i was reasonably healthy and fairly sensible where eating is concerned. Both points that turned out to be inaccurate, after initially being inspired by the documentary FAT SICK AND NEARLY DEAD, i looked on the Amazon site initially to purchase a juicer, where i stumbled on the book by Jason vale titled 7 lbs in 7 days, with nothing to lose i downloaded the book onto my kindle and read through it why waiting for my new juicer to arrive. Jason manages to capture your attention from the off with his hold no punches tell it as it is approach, even going as far as mentioning fat bas---ds in the text, a phrase in which we are all told is not politically correct, but none the less we have probably all used at some point even if its only to describe ourselves.I certainly have. My journey began on a Monday morning 22/07/2013 i awake at 5.20 am each morning, a challenge in it self, then i weighed my self for the initial weigh in, (15 st 2 1/4 lbs) i followed the plan almost to the letter, with the exception that i could not bring myself to consume up to five liquidized meals a day, the first morning was a pain as i hadn't even used my juicer before so was a little disorganized ,my first taste of the juices was about 9.00 am which wasn't to unpleasant, the worse thing about it was the colour, though i do think Jason is being a little optimistic with some of the shakes after which he tells you to pour over ice and enjoy ! not really an enjoyable experience with some of the recipes,as Jason mentioned the first few days you will in all likely hood suffer with headaches, mine lasted for 4 days and then gradually eased off.I would come home from work each evening and weigh myself, pleasantly surprised most of the time. I must mention that i did not do as much exercise as Jason asked but over the course of the week managed approx 2 hrs in the gym in the evening and two 2 hr sessions at my local karate club, so all in all about 4 hrs being active, although Jason says you will start to feel full of energy and not tired a don't think this is true for the duration of the 7 days as i went to the gym on the Saturday morning and was absolutely knackered just doing routines that i had been doing prior to starting the 7 day plan. In my own experience i would advise moderate exercise for the 7 day plan and then step it up a gear after you body has become use to the new regime. No doubt you want me to get to the point ! the point being that in only 7 days i managed to lose 14 3/4 lbs a figure that i would have thought impossible if i hadn't done it myself. I have to express concerns like no doubt all of you who are reading this will do. that i have only lost so much by starving myself, but i don't believe this to be the case as the few meals that i did have were full of good nutritious foods and i can honestly say that i did not feel hungry during the week, if i had done then i would have simply made my self a couple more shakes. I'm not saying that i didn't still crave some solid foods but i was not hungry, its important to be aware of the difference between the two as Jason so clearly explains in his book the desire to eat unhealthy foods are just cravings for sugars and and other unhealthy produce. I wont try and kid you it was hard at first and even more so when your wife is passing out cooked meals to the rest of the family, and you are sitting with a grass coloured shake in your hand, but believe me when you step on the scales on that final day it all becomes worth while. I can not recommend this book highly enough, if you just want to lose a bit of weight for that holiday or special occasion, give it a go the only thing you have to lose is a few pound of excess weigh, and who knows you may be converted into a new way of feeding yourself. keep an eye out for any further reviews that i post on this subject as i now intend going onto the 14 day plan also by Jason Vale. good luck.

A mixed experience (no pun intended!)
I bought this book, plus all the equipment; Juicer, blender, wheatgrass, spirulina etc etc. I followed the book to the hilt, followed all his instructions, kept re-reading it as instructed (which at times was hard because he really loves to repeat himself in twenty five different ways) and at the end of the week I had lost 4lbs! Which was a disappointing but I wasn't only doing the plan as a weightloss programme, I wanted to give my body a cleanse and a boost after years of eating badly. I also have a very underactive thyroid so was hoping to feel a bit more energised with this plan. And generally this was a positive experience. The most notable positive effect I had was the improvement in the my skin. It was quite remarkable. My skin (on my whole body, not just my face) was feeling really sapped, dry to the bone, itchy, horribly uncomfortable and after just four days on the plan it started feeling nourished, soft, moisturised from the inside out, and supple. That was a very welcome change and because I had previously been feeling so uncomfortable, really gave me a boost. The plan itself is easy to follow. Jason lays out every day's "menus" with timings which you can just tweak/adjust to fit your own routine if you live in different timescale to the one he sets out. But as long as you follow the spacing a between juices then you won't actually feel hungry. I did find that by day three although I wasn't hungry, I did really crave "chewing"!! Which sends funny but I was actually craving the sensation of "eating" something. So although the plan itself is easy to follow, you do need a lot of will power to do it and see it through. My biggest complaint about this plan is that there is way too little endorsement, advice or input from any professional people like clinical nutritionists, biologists, doctors, etc. There are brief mentions, but the vast majority of the plan is just a sermon from Jason himself. Who, whilst he is a nice man and very positive, is not a medically certified health professional, and to a certain extent I did find him a little patronising and overbearing without the educational weight to back up his claims. My point is: Anyone can proclaim anything if they have enough conviction and confidence, but that does NOT necessarily mean there is any truth in what they are proclaiming. I'm not saying that Jason's claims are untrue, and clearly there are many people who have had much better success than me following his plans. I'm simply saying that there needs to be much more professional, reputable input and advice about the ways this plan will affect your body, than just some uber-confident bloke with the gift of the gab. It's a dicey thing to stand up and slate the professionalism of doctors and health services without the qualifications and evidence to do so, just because you can talk a good game. My personal experience from this plan ended very negatively with me having to call an ambulance six days after ending the plan and the doctors believed that I passed a gall stone. This was not 'caused' by the plan, but is a remarkable coincidence, especially given that the change of diet is such a radical one from my normal, less nutrient rich, dietary habits. I have, however, tried not to let my own negative experience influence how I review the plan, because after all we are all different and there are many who seem to have had a very positive effect from following Jason's repetitive power talking. The juices are delicious and should be a daily part of anyones dietary intake. The exercise plan too. But I do not like being bombarded by potentially empty claims and statements from someone who is not medically qualified to make them.

Easy read and fast, successful weight loss
OK... I'll give this five stars not for the quality of the book but for the the 9lb loss I had in the week. It's an expensive diet, keep in mind that you'll need to fork out for a quality juicer, blender and about £30 on the extra supplements and £70 on fruit and veg for the week. I think my start up costs were around £250. Although, I have carried on with the 14 day plan and now dropped over 18lb in just three weeks. I've not felt hungry, just a bit weak and headachy in the first three days but get past that and it's plain sailing. The results are pretty amazing if you stick by the book to the diet and do a little exercise. I certainly feel great, in fact I feel incredibly 'clean', light and energised if that makes sense. I didn't find Jason's writing annoying just quite casual and it's a very easy read, I finished it on one long train journey. If you can afford the initial investment and are willing to go through a bit of discomfort for the first few days then I'd thoroughly recommend doing the diet. I've gone on to buy a lot more juicing books. It's quite addictive once you get over the 'hump' and really start to see weight loss and feeling good. After finishing the second plan I'll 100% continue juicing. I had a really bad diet before and I didn't realise what an impact it would have on the way I feel. So overall the book as a 'self help' book has 'helped' (which is a first for me) so I guess that's why I'm giving a 5 Star review. One tip is to not skimp on the juicer, do a lot of research, you need a good one. If you are going to keep this up then it's so much easier with one that's efficient, doesn't heat the nutrients and most importantly to me is easy to clean (and you will be cleaning it many many many many many times during the diet....)

Great results
Just finished the plan. I thought people might want to hear about results from someone not necessarily looking to lose weight, but simply to see how I felt and the benefits I experienced. Preparation hints: 1) Buy a good juicer, like a Beville. We originally started on an Omega masticating juicer, but it's simply too time consuming to juice 5-6 times a day with it. The Beville literally saves about 80% of the prep time for making a juice. 2) As suggested, read the book first. It only takes a couple days, but helps with the mindset preparation. 3) Be prepared to spend a lot of money on apples, pineapples, and avocados. There are other things as well, but you will really go three these things. The process: I am not a huge coffee drinker, but drink 1-2 cups a day. Giving this up left me with a headache by the end of day 1. But by day 2, it was gone. The first 2 days were the hardest hunger-wise, but not bad. The juices are fruity and appetizing, and the greener juicer don't show up until after the first couple of days. This is probably by design to make the program more palatable to a wider range of people. By day 5, I felt great and was slightly hungry but not bad. I worked out during the program every day. I ran 5 miles on two occasions and did calisthenics every day. I think this is important for men that aren't looking to lose too much muscle mass. Surprisingly, I felt great on my workouts and runs. Definitely lighter and fresher. Definitely start with the hot lemon water each morning, and I recommend ending with the "hon-n-spicy" each night, which is listed as optional. Especially if you are hungry, this hot apple juice helps satiate you until morning. Some of the drinks are decedent, with bananas and yogurt added. So you get pretty close to as full as eating a few times during the week. The results: I lost 8 lbs. Again, I wasn't looking to lose any necessarily, but of course expected to lose some. It seems to just flatten out your midsection, and I don't feel like I lost much muscle. I felt great when I finished. Another bonus is that I felt great giving up coffee, and haven't gone back to it. You really lose a lot of cravings during the week, and after a juice in the morning the harshness of coffee is no longer appealing. Likewise, I felt like eating light and healthy, and craved things like almonds, salads, and guacamole. I went back to my longer workouts in the gym, and feel great. I have kept with juicing at least twice a day, and plan to keep with it. Notes: I think wheat grass and spirulina are worth getting, which are suggested supplements. I also used the probiotic pills, but don't think those did much for me. My wife did it with me, and also lost exactly 8 pounds. She did about 20-30 minutes of aerobic-based workouts each day. Overall, I think this is a great program. Seven days seems long enough to get the full benefits and really transition your taste buds and alter your physique, but not so long as to be undoable.
