Wondering does this product need so many additives

I do not know why it needs all these added ingredients, especially potato starch and titanium dioxide? But then I am not a scientist. I cannot fathom why titanium dioxide is added unless it makes the tablet whiter....but who cares what colour it is as long as it is free from nasties and of a convenient size for easy swallowing. The product requires an anti caking agent and a bulking agent and if its in capsule form then it needs added stuff for the capsule but check ingredients carefully when buying. There are plenty of magnesium tablets/ capsules on the market and choose one that suits you with as few other ingredients as possible. I try all sorts of different mag .tablets until I find one that suits. Some are much better than others.

Ingredients: Magnesium Hydroxide, Bulking Agents: Microcrystalline Cellulose, Dibasic Calcium Phosphate & Potato Starch, Tablet Coating (Hydroxypropylmethy|cellulose, Glycerin, Colour: Calcium Carbonate), Anti-caking Agents: Silicon Dioxide, Stearic Acid, Purified Talc & Magnesium Stearate, Polyvinylpyrrolidone.
