Extremely good value for the money spent
Extremely good value for the money spent! I needed a replacement for the bass-mid-tone drivers in my 1985 Pioneer TS-X1 freestanding speakers for my PC set-up in my office. The originals suffered from the disintegrating foam-surround syndrome, and the Sub-Zero Ice 4-inch seemed to fit, so I ordered them very early in the morning from amazon.co.uk and had them by 2 PM the next day in Norway! I actually paid more for the delivery than for the speakers, but the total cost is quite satisfactory considering the good result. Replacing the old drivers, I only had to reduce the height of the four studs for the fixing screws to about 3 mm above the speaker seating flange, and use very short new screws, e.g. 4x10 mm. The original enclosed back tweeter was left in place, but not connected, since the Sub-Zero is a full range unit. After some listening, I decided to close the bass reflex ducts completely by filling the concentric gaps from the inside with 6 mm strips of dense foam. The sound is clean and very well balanced. Note: The power handling capacity specified by the speaker industry is always very high and only valid for very short bursts. It is not difficult to blow a 4" speaker if one expects thundering sound levels in a noisy car environment.

Bargain speakers with good sound.
Great sounding little speakers for a bargain price. Minimal tweakage to install in my ancient Matiz whose factory farters have been dead the long year. Not sure about all the complaints be-moaning giving up the ghost after a few weeks, what do you expect for less than a tenner? Guess if you run them a high volume with max bass they're gonna die a death, any speaker would, hell ,they are only 4 inches in diameter after all. Little light on the bass end, but good enough. I like trebley post-punk so it's not really an issue. Bottom line, if you need to replace crappy factory farters cheaply, they are the dogs danglies, And at just over 12 quid courier delivered, they're a bleedin' bargain! Oh, great service from seller too, arrived 3 days after ordering. Result!

Not bad at all.
Purchased two pairs of these to fit a pair of custom rear door pods i made to fit in a 2011 Mk2 ford KA. Sound quality is very good and these operate in a tuned enclosure on an 80HZ high pass filter from the head unit. These are only fill speakers as amps power the main front and rears but for the price i'm very pleased with these. Nice punchy mid range and even with a pair on either side the treble isn't overkill at all.

Screw plates bent
Untested yet. I know I didn't pay Premium. It comes in a compact box and well protected. Packaging looks great, but I cannot understand why the fitting tabs and the connecting terminals are bent. I'm not sure if I will not have trouble with the terminals that seem to had been assembled by someone with worst eyesight than myself - bent and twisted. Also the speakers do not seem to be concentric and are pushed toward one of the tabs (1mm to one tab but 3mm to the opposite tab - I'm hoping it is only cosmetic. Sadly, it loses some stars even before I test them.

I mean WOW !! ๐
I have an old VW can, and as any owner with tell you the speakers that come in them have the quality of a musical birthday card. I have tried so many 4" speakers (Vibe, pioneer, JVC, etc) and they are all ok, but never great. Plus they cost 2 to 3 times more than these. Great sound, very clear, and paired with an underseat sub gives a really rich posh sound. 100% recommended. Now I just hope they last. Think I'll give the 6x9 versions a go in the back.

Terrible but great?
Box was intact but inside the tabs were a bit bent, but I proceeded to fit them anyway as most people would be used to working around some bumps and scrapes. In the process of fitting the wires that came with it both negative terminals bent and flexxed so much I had to use pliers to hold it in shape to slide the plug on... in the 3 weeks of using them I have had to pull them out 5 times where i would resolder the connection and add some glue to stop some of the flexxing. Just today I have found the actual problem seems to be related to these weak points, but is between the negative terminal and the blob on the cone holding the wire. Although one had a far weaker negative tab than the other.the same fault appeared on both. I'm not particularly rough or anything and the picture showing the bent mounting tabs was taken immediately from opening. I would have returned them right away if they were more expensive and i hadnt been messing with them - BUT the real shame is that when I get a temporary fix, or if I hold the silver wire from the back of the speaker, the volume and sound are both surprisingly good. The highs are a bit peaky for me and the bass isn't worth trying too hard with, but with a little subwoofer in the system they're actually better than expected and are a great addition to my multi amp/speaker setup. If they weren't so broken.
