I'm planning on painting on furniture made of veneer/laminate, will I have to sand this furniture down or can I directly paint on it?

I've painted all our bedroom furniture and a wicker chair with this and it's beautiful. Prepare properly and bob's your uncle. I've never primed tbh, but I do use the wax, 2 coats apply buff, apply buff. A year after painting and no chips or yellowing so I've just gave everything another coat of wax.

My study desk is currently chocolate brown. Do you think that this would affect the look if I paint it using chalky white? Thanks.

I would say it would need probably 3 coats to cover it but it will end up white if you are prepared to do this.I painted an oak cabinet and a dark brown veneered table and both needed 3 coats for the bits that are on view but i got away with two coats for sides of cabinet for eg. Also depends how thick you paint it on. Hope this helps!

Is this suitable for kitchen cupboards? Will it last the heat and general kitchen use please?

Yes chalk paint can be used on anything but u need a top coat for protection like a varnish I use polyvine
