I purchased this 600W power supply a year ago when my EVGA 650G died, after 4 years of service. While this power supply is a lower wattage than my previous one (a 650W Gold), I have yet to experience any crashes or blue screens due to missing power. This PSU comes with a 3 year warranty - pretty meh, but for the price i cant complain if I need to replace it after that period. While this Power supply is non modular, its low profile made it easy to install with space to stuff the extra cables if needed. After the initial setup I haven't needed to touch it since. I had some trouble fitting the CPU power in my case as it was a tight squeeze and the two halves were difficult to lock into place on my motherboard. While not holding a bronze 80+ rating it is still incredibly good and quiet under load. This power supply is barely audible ticking by despite not having an eco mode. While I don't have inline power readers to measure the power usage of my system, using software including GPU-z and HWMonitor i gauge my PC uses around 460-500W of Power under load. When I found this power supply, i was surprised by just how small it was - just an inch or so off made a huge difference in my case.An advantage in my case is the shorter size has let me properly fit another intake fan on the bottom of my PC tower (that was previously wedged in between the old PSU hard drive cage). EVGA is a big name in the PC world, supplying Power Supplies and Graphics cards mainly so they are a name you can trust! They have a first class warranty (should you ever need it) and their customer service is excellent. The PSU delivers the power it says it will, quietly and efficiently and of course reliably! The connections are vast, 8 pin CPU, 24 PIN, PCIe for your GPU (2 of them) as well as a couple of molex and a wealth of Sata plugs too! Build quality is perfect, there is a definite weight to the PSU and the fan is hardly audible! 500w was all i needed but there are smaller wattages available as well as larger ones! Its standard ATX size so in a desktop case its a standard replacement of the old unit, unplug all cables from PSU that connect to the motherboard and devices, undo 4 screws at the back but make sure you check your case hasnt got a retaining clip inside (Dell and HP are amongst the culprits here) remove, slot in the new one, tighten 4 screws then re insert all the plugs you require! Always multiple the PSU power by 0.7 to work out the maximum power draw it shpuld be abls to withstand for prolonged periods such as when gaming for a few hours at a time. This means that this 600W power supply while ot is rates for up to 600W at any particular time shpuld onky be used doe a maximum of 420W for prplonged periods otherwise like any other power supply on the market it would likely fail quicker than expected. You will need to find out the maximum power of all of the components in your OC build, add them together and if the number is less than 420W then this power supply should be fine. If your total PC power is less than 420W but youve been blowing up 600W power supplies then Id start looking at other parts in the system being at fault. The easiest way to find which other components might be causing PSUs to fail is to look for compents that are getting hotter than they should. If you have a good list of comoents in yoir build then they should all have thermocouples built into them which you can easily use to test their temperatures, but if not then fir about £10 you can akways buy a laser thermometer. Your most likely cause of failure is the total power of your system is higher than 70% of the maximum powee of your precious power supply. The best way to think about maximum power is to think of a car. If ypu buy a car and drive it at its maximum speed everywhere then it won't last very long. Power supply manufavturers should really do a betyer job at informing customers about the maximum "steady state" power of their produxts instead of always quoting "maximum power", but thats advertising I guess.
