Silverline Wire Stripping Pliers 160mm (282479), Grey

I have used wire strippers before, but these are the best I have ever used. They are substantial, and yet strip the finest wire with ease.

Very good pliers but the brass screw for setting the wire size for stripping is poor quality as is the locking nut. This is a pity as it reduces the quality of the whole device and may actually reduce its working life too.

Very useful if you are needing to do electrical wiring. Easily adjustable for various sizes of wire and great to strip back the insulation.

Fantastic service and worth the money

I was under the impression that these wire cutters would be a bit better than the last ones that I bought (of the same style) and they were as the depth adjustment knob is easily adjustable and overall these wire strippers have a positive feel. The cutter should be sharper though as that is what let me down as with sharper teeth it would make the wire stripping easier, especially when you are doing a lot of wire stripping in one go and not on and off. It has a nice spring return feel. If you are stripping more heavier gauge wire than lower gauge wire these are ideal for that and probably better than the automatic wire strippers. As the saying goes use the right tool for the job and make sure it's a good quality tool if you want to make a good job.

In general, the pliers seem of good construction. However, the "V" notches were sufficiently offset so as to make the pliers useless. I did try, unsuccessfully, to regrind the notches to make the pliers useful. So, regrettably, they will be consigned to the bin. It is a real shame that, with a bit more effort on the behalf on the maker and their QC Dept, these would have been decent pliers at a good price. Will I buy another Silverline product? Only if I can see it and make sure it works first!

Da ich gerade Haus baue und vieles selber mache um es finanziell so leicht wie möglich zu haben bestellte ich die Zange für die Elektrik. Sehr gute Qualität, also für mich leicht ausreichend. Kann ich aber gerne weiter empfehlen für Heimwerker!
