what maintenance is required

This item is a replacement filter to be fitted in to an existing undersink water filter system. Cleaning of the unit between filter changes would be the maintenance required.

I have a old doulton double cartridge on top want to change the old water filter to cleansoft lime scale reduction drinking water filter cartridge

Same as you using counter top 2 filters, but Doulton is not for lime scale unless RO or water softener.
