Yuk! Too fancy for my taste buds.
I didn't quite like this type of candy. I'm sure if you're used to this brand you might enjoy it. Not what I expected. However, it seemed fresh and was packaged well. Kind of expensive purchase if you find yourself not caring for this candy. It really didn't look appetizing. The photos make it appear like fancy candy. Definitely a candy for an acquired taste. Bought this as a gift. Receiver didn't like it either.

Uuuuhhh, no. Very disappointed.
Ok, probably I am one innocent buyer who falls for good reviews and buys the great reviewed things, trusting the reviews on products here are true, but oh, how much I can’t stand myself for giving reviewers a vote of trust. So, I have family in Italy, have my Nona and mom who cooks and bakes wonderfully and I have to say, these Californian torrones are VERY stale, the nuts taste rancid and just by cutting a piece of it I already knew they were old, it as almost impossible to cut and to chew it a maxillary torture. The nougat is over the top sweet and zero orange/citrus flavor, and again, the nuts are rancid. The only good things I can say about these 2 boxes : the boxes are cute and the torrones are indeed loaded with nuts. That is all I have to say about it and cry a little because I was so looking forward to try a domestic torrone. Stick to really made in Italy torrones, friends!

Unpleasant texture
Too soft and sticky for me. I've had other torrone with a dryer, harder texture that was described as "soft." That stuff was much more enjoyable. This stuff is not worth the calories. Here, I was misled by the use of the word "brittle" in the description. Brittle it is not.

Very good.
If you like sweets, these weren't chewy enough for me but your tastes may differ. A bit costly too bc there isn't much nougat out there to compare.

Should have read the reviews before purchasing.
You only get one nougat in a box that could hold two and for the price you should get at least two. My wife saw this and asked if I would get one for her when our budget could afford it, as she used to get these as a kid in the local stores (I am talking the 1960's). Back then they were soft and chewy and cost less about a dime (even I remember them). But I should have read the reviews and looked at what others had to say. Also should have taken notice of the use of the word "Brittle", normally only time I ever seen that word used is when describing "Peanut Brittle" - don't think there is anything as "Soft Brittle". Soft this nougat is not - nothing like the old days and for two dimes back then it would equal the size of what you get now. So I do not recommend purchasing.
