This spray bottle seems to be super concentrate, it stinks! Cats Love it, mine went mad for it, anything from a distraction of fireworks or the MOD firing out on the Range, is a perfect distraction, but it STINKS! Anyone who has ever had Athletes foot or suffers from sweaty feet, is the closest fragrance you will get with this. It is a herb and it grows naturally in the UK, It works for settling your cat to keep them happy, is highly distractive, makes a good "thank you" treat without making them fat, and you just got to make sure you don't spray it in open spaces, but on their beds, away from human noses, because it stinks! It's good value for money though, although I think catnip has a better scent when sprayed, this Valerian lasts longer.

I got a kitten to keep my adult cat company after his sister was killed in a car accident. He was very unimpressed at the intruder in his home and whilst he wasn’t aggressive with her, he was constantly growling and hissing for the first week. I bought a plug in feliway diffuser for the living room, but I bought this spray to spray in the hall way and around the doorway into the spare room where the kitten sleeps. It’s been so, so helpful. Within 24 hours of using this spray, the adult cat let her sleep on the same bed as him, and let her come and bump noses with him without hissing at her. A few days after that and they were cuddled on the sofa together. It’s still early days and he’s definitely giving off an “annoyed older brother” vibe but it’s a much happier house! I would say two caveats: 1) As other reviews state, it is quite an unpleasant smell. I would liken it to insect repellant but less chemically. But, the smell only really lingers for an hour after spraying and I find spraying every couple of days helps. It’s certainly not a bad enough odour to make me not want to use it, considering how helpful it’s been. 2) Make sure you follow the instructions and spray the area but keep your cat away from it for 15 mins. I didn’t on one occasion and my cat went crazy, rolling around in it, clawing at the carpet… and because he was over excited it had the opposite effect and he was quite hissy with the kitten when she came to investigate. So let the spray settle before letting the cat near it.

Spritzed a couple of sprays onto the rug. Lord Aragorn was immediately interested. He couldn't stop sniffing the area and eventually ended up rolling himself gently around it. Valerian smells faintly of musty old socks so don't be concerned that something is wrong...The smell is worth it to see your beloved companions in such bliss. Now he comes running at the sound of ANY pump spray....Definitely relaxing for cats and as an aromatherapist I can tell you that it works on humans as well...It's just not an oil that aromatherapists like to use because of the odd odour. I could never find a different oil that would mask the smell. Great product but a little pricey TBH.

This has to be the foulest smelling spray I have come across. I gave it 3 stars as although the cats seemed to like it, taking turns to roll on the area of carpet I sprayed it over, for humans it would score 0 stars as the smell of it was so foul it was unbearable. The stench was so strong it brought my son out of a room at the other end of the house to ask what the foul smell was. It was so bad I sprayed air freshener throughout the house and had to put perfume on just to mask it, but it lingered on for quite some time. I cannot bring myself to use it in a confined space again.

Love this , really calms my cat down before vet visits i just dpray on blanket great stuff

Unpleasant smell

I have bought this 12x in the past four years and it's helped with a house move, a grumpy cat and two new cats. The smell was bad but I looked past this as it works like a miracle spray. I had to purchase my 12th bottle as one of my cats was getting stressed by a Tom cat spraying outside my window and got the new look bottle and the smell has changed and he isn't getting the same calming effect he got before. I'll need to find something else now 😒

Este spray funciona super bien para mis dos gatos. Les tranquiliza bastante. Lo he comprado porque nos ibamos a mudar y habia comprado un nuevo arbol de gato y tenia miedo a que me empiezan a rascar las puertas o dormir en el sofa. He puesto (demasido pero bueno) spray en el arbol nuevo y en seguida han ido a dormir alli. Lo unico es que si, apesta!!!!! no se tiene que dar mas de 2 o 3 puff porque si no vomitas. EL olor es horrible. Cuando lo uso abro la ventana. El olor no se queda mucho tiempo pero no es un olor a flor vamos... Recomiendo el producto para los gatos que tienen tendencia a estar estreseados
