Budget-Friendly but Surprisingly Powerful
At first, I was hesitant to try this because I was on a tight budget, but I gave it a go anyway—and I’m glad I did. I was genuinely surprised at how well it filters my tank, performing almost like some of the more well-known brands. It keeps the water clean and clear and overall does a great job. I now have two of these running on my fish tanks, which says a lot! It also comes with all the filter media needed to grow beneficial bacteria, which is a big plus—especially if you’re on a budget, as you don’t need to buy anything separately. Another great thing is that it runs very quietly, which makes it perfect for home use. The build feels a bit plasticky, but honestly, it doesn’t affect performance at all. For the price, the quality is great. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a reliable, affordable, and silent filter!

Great filter for the price
After my hob filter failed on my nano betta tank, i wanted something a bit more substantial and ended up ordering the ef-150. Its handy that you can adjust the flow rate as it is too powerful on the max flow, and it is completely silent which is a bonus. It had a slight buzz at first, but this was solved by moving the pump slightly. It seems like great value for money and is very good quality. Additionally the set up was very easy.

Decent enough for the price
This is a nice, quiet and cheap little canister filter that does the job well enough. I bought it to replace an internal filter that died on me and so far so good. The set up is a little bit tricky getting it primed with no air bubbles in the flow, but once you get it going, it's perfect, completely silent and filters well. If you're struggling, this is basically a re-branded filter which sells in the states under the brand name Sunsun, so if you're struggling with the setup, I recommend searching for Sunsun canister filter setup on YouTube and you'll find loads of videos of people walking you through it. This is handy because if it does get trapped air, it's hideously noisy and the flow is awful, but once you get it going well, it's perfect. Mine is set up about a metre below the tank. There's loads of space for media, as well as a couple of little trays and it comes with plastic ball media and three sponges of different coarseness. I removed the balls and replaced them with Seachem Matrix, which has been fuss free and I had plenty of room to put the old sponges from my old filter in for a few weeks to allow the tank to keep stable and bacteria to breed easily from the old media. Honestly, I still feel like the flow is very soft in my 150L tank, but my fish are all low flow lovers anyway, so I'm okay with that, but if you need a rapid flow, i would look elsewhere. Overall, a good filter for a great price, but priming it is a little tricky and the low flow sort of goes against it. Depending on your application, you can decide if this is a heavy count against it or not.

Great product
Great product, filters well, water in tank is crystal clear after a couple of days. Not noisy at all, really quiet. Would highly recommend

Excellent little filter
Excellent little filter and great value for money. Easy to set up but tricky to prime. Tried as per product video to no avail. Had to manually siphon inlet tubing down to filter and it started working fine. Water crystal clear and filter not noisy at all. Overall highly recommend.

Beginner purchase
I purchased this as a natural step for a beginner and a desire to not clean a filter every week. I used the guide and bought what is suggested as suitable for 180l tank. Out of the box I knew straight away it was a cheaper option with a fear at first that the lid clips would not last along with some of the fixings. Installing wise it is easy although I got a little confused with the filter media order. It is just a case of connecting up and dropping the tubes into the tank. Something went wrong for me I will warn as my tank went into a cycle and killed half my fish. The pump can be quiet, it has had that moment although fleeting, it can rattle a little too and not as silent as I had hoped leaving you know it is working with its hum. Suction wise I am a little disappointed, confused or just amateur as even though the water is crystal clear I have a great amount of waste on the bottom of the tank and very little flow with no means of adjusting. I have made all attempts to bleed the pipes to a point that I think it is just the pump being too small for my tank possibly and a guide that is wrong. I even removed the fine thin white media that comes in a hope to increase flow to no joy. Cleaning can be easy, or presumably so and I might be doing it all wrong. Turn off power and inlet then unclip the lid, I always have a bowl underneath to catch the inevitable water spill and the clips. If you wish to clean the media that is it take it all out and go wash it. If you wish to clean the container too then you have to disconnect the pump that can be fiddly and difficult whilst trying to avoid dowsing your floor. I also had a huge build up of material lining the pipes from inlet and outlet after my 1st install so had to strip everything after 6 weeks of ownership. I have had some of the plastic fastening screws to hold the inlet and outlet in place snap, the outlet connector for the spray bar is all a bit askew also leaving part in the water and part out due to the angle it was manufactured at. All in all you get a cheap pump that does its job well enough for the price that it is sold for, it is flimsy in areas as you would expect yet I am content knowing that I have my moneys worth.

Sensible price
Have read a few reviews saying has no lift and has a noisy motor . Well they were right when I first played with this filter . But here is the thing the lack of lift and the noise was all due to the canister being slightly airlocked . You need to submerge both pipes fully in the tank water . Then turn the filter off for a about 30 secs and wait for the air to purge from the system can do this a few times and it should clear the air from the system. If that doesn't do the trick then get a bucket turn off the system. Close the valve and put output hose into the bucket open the value and let the water start to syphon through the filter. Close the tap and put the output back into the tank turn the system back on and open the tap . Now with all the air out of the system the pump should quiet and you should have a good water flow. The picture is of the tank I am going to fit it into cabinet underneath in the next few days . As you can see there is a reasonable hight between the filter and the tank . With the system purged of air the actual lift is only the height between the inlet and out let pipes gravity and the syphon effect takes care of the rest . Update Filter now is in cabinet and pipes are run to the tank . All running nicely. I have sat the unit on a couple of antivibration pads and it is running silent now the unit has been totally purged of air. As you can see from the picture there is plenty of water flow. Update. Been running this filter fir some time now in a 25L tank it's extremely quiet now it's settled down , I did empty and clean the canister, and also cleaned the pipes out back in Oct, I charged some of the filter media and added some bio media in the bottom of the canister . Before putting the top back on I added some filter start bacteria. But in short after my last lot of maintenance I have not had to touch this filter and it's been running for 3 months and still putting your a good amount of crystal clear water . I do also run bubble based sponge filter in this tank too but I do that in all my tanks, this filter still looks like new . The tank has 8 adult corrys that have actually been breeding as have several baby's in there too , so the tank must be well balanced and filter now .

Super filtration
