Cheers MJay** A: You're supposed to use a foam filler before applying this on a plasterboard wall. Used with drill holes or medium damage holes. **Q: Will this patch tea plate size hole (goes back to stone) 10 - 30mm depth in wall? Does it need pva? Old cottage so rough finish not a problem.** A: yes this will fill larger holes it will do a good job, it will be smooth if not just sand down to level needed. **Q: rotten window frame with huge bits missing - doesn't need to be pretty - will this do?** A: I would not use this (& I've repaired a few seriously rotten windows in my time. I'd use Ronseal High Performance woodfiller, you can get it in different colours including white. Very good, once set you can sand (I use a palm sander) or even carve it. If you have rotten wood though, you need to treat that with something like a wet rot hardener first (depending on cause of damage). Use masking tape to help create the new shape you are trying to make if you are missing edges & it works a treat. **Q: is this suitable for skimming larger uneven areas?** A: I'm no tradesman just a on an doff DYI but I wouldn't use this as it sets like rock and is a pain to sand large areas. "Polycell Plaster Repair Polyfilla Ready Mixed" is great though. It is more like kids magnetic sand than general wall filler. Easy to spread so less to no sander. It did the job I needed to but it does create a lot of dust when sanding to a finish. I used it on an object that needed moving afterwards and it became obvious that it doesn't dry quite as quickly as Ronseal claim unless you apply it very thinly indeed. It was during moving that I realised it gives a lot of excess dust.
