I currently have a metronome that has very small numbers on it that I can no longer read now that I am over 50.** A: I bought this model to study piano. The beat number is not small and not so big. The beat number has the same size of all other metronomes. This model is quality good and works fine. You can set beat 2, 3, 4 and 6 using the bottom on left. You can set the Bell on or off if you wish. I bought this as I can still remember that distinctive tick-tock sound when I attended childhood piano lessons. This is a retro copy in plastic. I chose black as I didn’t think that wood effects would look so good. The sound is remarkably good and the visual clues given by the swinging pendulum are why it is this shape. A good buy and hoping it serves me well for a good number of years.
