Second edit: adapter doesn't work. Don't buy. Great product that does what it should. It's a nice and necessary adapter to have. But seriously, Apple what is up with you? As an Apple user since '06 I've always loved the simplicity and intuitiveness of their products. But now, I have to shell out $10 for this one adapter, which takes your beautiful iPhone that now needs a long dangle hanging out because you had to pull a really stupid move by only creating one port that I and the rest of the world regularly uses two simultaneously. I often charge and use headphones, so I guess I have to always remember that whenever I need to do that now I have to carry this accessory around. My disdain is growing...you're getting greedy, and if something better comes along I'm ready to bail on you. (And I won't pay over 3 figures for a phone, which is why I bought a used "7" and now needed to buy this adapter) Maybe this isn't the right place for a comment like this, after all, this is a review about this adapter, which is fine by the way. And Apple probably won't ever see this comment or care. But if you feel like me vote this comment up and let's make some noise.

All of the reviews on this product are absolutely false. As of iOS 10.2.1 come to find out, Apple has built-in compliance checking features that render the majority of 3rd party cables and accessories useless. This product DOES NOT WORK on iOS 10.2+ These should not be sold on Amazon, they are non-compliant and falsely advertise features that they do not have. All of the 5 star reviews on this product are posted by people that only post reviews on these specific items to boost sales. Amazon needs to do a better job of sifting out false and fabricated reviews, as not a single one of them on this product is from a real Amazon purchaser.

I don’t know if I should be pissed at Apple who obsoletes every accessory but their own, or at companies that exploit people by selling products that are known to be incompatible as legit. Don’t buy this. It doesn’t work, and it isn’t worth the time to send it back, unless someone comes by my house to pick it up without *any* effort from my end.

THIS DOES NOT WORK!! The title of the product says it is for iPhone7, but it absolutely does not work. As soon as I plug it in and try to use it, an error message pops up saying that it is not compatible with my device. What a waste of money.

This splitter does not work. Both the 3.5MM audio jack and Lightning charger jacks don't work. Not apple compatible. The reviews that rate them 5 star are fictitious. Look at seller's ratings and not product reviews alone.

Beware this does not work on my iPhone 7 plus. I get the "device not supported pop up warning and it shuts down music and charging after about 45 seconds. I tried many times thinking it would get past but no.

Received it very fast, but the audio jack does not work. My iPhone 7 shows "This accessory is not supported by this iPhone" when I plugged it in.

Worked for a bout a minute and then "This accessory is not supported by this iPhone" message appeared and it quit working.
