Rit Dye 155879 More Synthetic 7oz-Daffodil Yellow

first: this dye did the job on the item i was dying. the yellow colour was strong and bold and looked great. HOWEVER: before you grab this thinking it'll just be a quick and easy dye job let me tell you how you're meant to dye polyester: you need a big pot (3 gallons of water per pound of fabric) that you bring up to just below boiling. then, while wearing rubber gloves, you pop in the dye and the item you want to dye. now it's only half an hour of constant stirring and agitation to make sure that the dye gets everywhere and gives an even, consistent result. now that you're done with that, you need to rinse out the garment somewhere (please note a lot of dye will rinse out with this and may stain things) and then wash it (again more dye will come out) and finally hang out to dry. don't forget to dispose of the massive pot of water and dye somewhere (more stain warning). and, from what i understand, you can't use the pot for cooking again after this so unless you're doing a lot of dying (maybe you're a cosplayer and make lots of costumes), consider it an extra cost, and big pots aren't that cheap. if you absolutely must dye synthetics then do your research before you commit. there are some extra costs and mess and you may just want to stick with what you have, or buy a new one in the colour you want. but if you're determined or have no other option then this dye will do you well. just make sure you know what you're doing before you start.

Didn't use this sent back for refund.the seller refunded immediately. Reason sent back is the colour just didn't look right additionally the instruction is minute. Took photo with my phone to see if I could read I structions and it wa still a nightmare, hence the retnurn

I dyed this bra in a pan (thats big enough to fit 2 bras) filled with hot water and I poured around 3/4 - 1/2 of the dye bottle in and this is the colour that came out after 30 mins. The comparison to before shows how effective the dye was. Would recommend. It was so easy, you just stir the pot for 30 mins and just rinse it out in the sink (even tho no dye came out when I was rinsing) then pop it in the washing machine to quick wash and it’s done!

I had a very pale yellow dress that was 100% polyester. I was a bit nervous about using the dye as the reviews were mixed. Once it arrived I realised I didn't have a pot big enough(ended up purchasing an 11 litre stew pot which was more than adequate). Followed the instructions to the letter and my dress is now a lovely vibrant daffodil yellow. The colour is completely even. I'm very impressed and wouldn't hesitate to use again in other colours!

Horrible smell but it worked really well. I dyed a full length skirt daffodil yellow - it looks tres fab. It took three gallons of water. I had to buy a 25 litre container just for this. Takes thirty minutes once you have brought this amount of water to rolling boil - which takes forever - so maybe not the best thing to be doing right now in these high cost energy times.

I used this to spray a chair used two bottles. I took a chance as not instructions for dying bug items . I diluted the first bottle with hot water and sprayed it on the chair which was light punk valour. Second bottle used less water. Needed to seal the chair after with Vit sealer

Some time ago, I saw a fabric with hot pink tips, and a pale yellow base. I was absolutely smitten by it, and wanted it badly! However... reviews revealed that they had poor camera quality, and the yellow was actually white. With this in mind, I purchased white and pink 'Candy Shaggy' fur with the intent to dye it. It worked out exceptionally well! Below I go over what I did in case you wish to do the same- I had a large pot I use for dying fabric and other crafts. I would recommend going to Good Will or purchasing a designated 'craft pot' as I would be too paranoid to cook food in a container that once had concentrated dye in it. I filled it with enough water to let the small test chunks flow freely around in it, and added a dab of soap, and some salt. RIT recommends the soap, and someone recommended salt with their own dying experiences, so I did both. I then heated the water to around 200 degrees then added a splash of RIT Dye More Synthetic. I wanted it pale so I didn’t do a TON. I imagine if you want an intense color you would need to use a lot more than I did. Do not boil the fur though! I hear really high temperatures can shrivel and warp the fibers! While I didn't have this issue, it is best to keep an eye on things. Each swatch of fabric I washed in warm soapy water. I scrubbed them rather aggressively, to make sure nothing was on the fibers, before I dropped it into the pot. Here I let it soak for about ten minutes, stirring regularly with metal tongs that I sacrificed to craft land where they won't be used for food again. RIT recommends letting it soak for at least 30 minutes to an hour, but because I wanted a pale I did it for only ten. Once I got the color I wanted, I removed, and rinsed in warm water and even more soap, gradually cooling the water until it was chilled and the water ran soap free and clear. I then used a hair dryer on hot to speed dry the fabric, fluffing it up with a brush and shaking regularly to separate the small fibers. I imagine if I dye an entire yard at a time, I would want to put it in the dryer and keep an eye on it. TIP: The color looks a LOT darker initially. My fabric looked pink and INTENSE sunflower yellow when I removed it from the pot. After drying, it substantially lightened as you see in the photos. Results were better than I expected. I anticipated the pink being turned an orange color, but it still looks a vibrant with only the faintest tinge of orange. If you need custom fur colors to facilitate a specific project, know that RIT can help you do that as long as you treat it with care and take your time during the process. While I can't say if you can get true BRIGHT colors or not since I did not try, pale tones can be applied easily.

I did not want to pay extra for the regular rit dye, even though I had to dye some natural materials along w/ synthetic. I took a chance, and found this dye works perfectly! I will say, if you are planning on dying natural materials, I would recommend it not being items that need to be washed often, and it does not have the best stay power. I used the dye to over dye past scraps for an artist quilt I have been working on. it came out perfect! 10/10 recommend also, PS: this dye can dye buttons and other small plastic pieces!!! have fun with it!

When Hubs washed my beautiful yellow pants with a red shirt that bled, I didn't want to throw out those expensive pants. Decided to re-dye them to get rid of the hint of red that had settled on them. Picked out this color. I used vinegar per the directions to help with the color fastness. Well, I thought this would be a muted daffodil yellow but it turned out to be a bright canary yellow. They are bright, but I saved those pants. just not the color I was hoping for.
