Bit pricey but does the job really well

This is an amazing product! And well worth buying but please buy it from absoultely any other company apart from Amazon! Four bulbs in a row have arrived smashed to pieces due to a complete lack of care and consideration. With no packing around the bulbs and then being placed in large empty boxes where they can bounce around and be broken... Once is an accident, twice is a serious mistake... Fourth time that's a p*ss-take!

Does what it's meant to do unlike the Amazon delivery driver...

So...I ignored all the comments saying 'this item was broken' And guess what? It arrived in a damaged box with a broken bulb... So if you still buy it, I told you so On the plus side, I'm waiting for the item be returned as of tomorrow which was pretty straight forward and for this reason I'm giving it a one star.

These t5 ho bulbs are awesome. My beardie is more active, there is alot more light throughout the whole cage, which is awesome for looks and for the health of the reptile. I had a 160 watt powersun before this and it burned out in about 5 months which was a blessing in disguise since my dragon likes this a whole lot better and its a whole lot better on my buget. Couple of things to consider. The uvb output varies greatly and depends on a wide variety of factors. (there are many websites that have the uv meter number at different distances, with screens, and reflectors you can look at) If you mount this above a mesh screen you will need a reflector at the least and the distance to animal needs to be closer. I currently have mine mounted inside my melamine enclosure hung by hooks with wire in a standard fixture i got at home depot for 25 bucks. The bulb is 6 to 11 inches away from my beardie at any given moment (about 16 inches bulb to the floor of the enclosure. Since my fixture does not have a reflector these distances should be just fine because uvb is lost if not in a reflector. Also make sure you have a hide so if your pet wants to escape the uvb it can.

Die Röhre an sich ist von ihrer UV- Leistung her sehr gut für Tiere aus offenen Landschaften mit hoher UV- Bestrahlungsstärke geeignet, wenn man sie in einem Abstand bis ca. 30 cm (nachgemessen mit SOLARMETER) zum Tier einsetzt. Nach ca. 12 Monaten (je nach täglicher Brenndauer) hat sie aber so viel ihrer ursprünglichen UV- Leistung verloren, dass sie ersetzt werden sollte. Darin unterscheidet sie sich aber auch nicht negativ von anderen UV- Leuchtmitteln. Daher auch die 5- Punkte Bewertung. Ein anderes Thema ist allerdings die Versandverpackung von Amazon. Diese war völlig ungeeignet zum Versand von Leuchtstoffröhren. Von 2 gleichzeitig bestellten Röhren, welche seltsamerweise in 2 getrennten Sendungen zeitgleich eintrafen, waren beide enthaltenen Röhren zerbrochen. Dies war auch nicht weiter verwunderlich, da die zum Versand gewählten, dünnwandigen, schlanken Umkartons den Röhren keinerlei Schutz gegen Durchbiegen boten und auch kein weiteres, stabilisierendes Material, wie etwa eine Holzleiste oder Pappröhre, enthalten war. Ich habe die kaputten Röhren somit zurückgesandt und bei einem spezialisierten Terraristikanbieter bestellt. Dort weiß man offensichtlich besser, wie Leuchtstoffröhren richtig zu versenden sind..........
