Is it artemisia annua, sweet annie, sweet woodwarm?

No it's artimisia absinthium which is the bitter one.

How is it extracted from the plant? Are fresh leaves soaked in cold water? Would this work against malaria?

I think this is just powdered wormwood leaves rather than extract. I suggest you contact the company Health Leads about the Malaria though - or google it.

No this is not sweet annie. You can get sweet annie from Baldwins. The plant is related and shares some of the ingredients though.

Do these contain thujone

I believe the dried form of this herb hardly contains any whatsoever. Suggest you check with Health Leads who are very helpful and also google for the information. Thujone is at a high concentration in the oil and also in alcholic extracts. You should be fine with this so long as you don't use it for a prolonged period and follow the dosage instructions. It is a brilliant product and I always like to keep some on hand for stomach upsets etc.
