Review: What a great idea for a really useful cookbook. - What a great book. So many good recipes, with super combinations of ingridients and flavours. I have dived in and have tried the fruit compote, spiced vegetables and chickpeas and the amazing pork belly and smoky beans. Next recipe is baked Apple porridge..who knew? Great idea. And another great idea is baked ruby grapefruit. I have hundreds of cookbooks and I think this will be a favourite. Review: Easy, tasty and minimal washing up - love it! - Great recipes, straightforward and easy to follow. Only one frustration, the roasting tray (20x30x5) is really hard to find in the UK. Otherwise very pleased with this book.

Brilliant book for busy families
This is so easy and each recipe works very well, portions can easily be adapted etc. My 4-year-old son even ate salmon and tried a green bean! Lots of ideas, takes the thinking out of dinner.

Easy delicious food
Have used many recipes in this book and they have all been delicious. Love the concept of a meal in one tray. Great photos as well.

Bit disappointing...
Some lovely recipes, but many have bread, pastry or potatoes which is not always obvious from the name e.g. spinach bacon and double cheese bake - first ingredient 400g potatoes. The dishes just seem to have more stodge to them. On balance I prefer the Rukmini Iyer 'Roasting Tin'. I liked the idea in that of building up your tin to vary the given recipes and devise your own. Also in that book every single recipe is illustrated.

A gem of a recipe book that won’t gather dust
Love this book! So far, I’ve made the sausage, fennel and apples wth red wine gravy, the veal parmigiana and the chicken thighs with creamy leek and caper sauce. My husband said that the veal parmigiana was one of the best meals I’d ever made, (I did serve it with mash and broccoli so a bit more washing up) concise instructions so it is a good book for beginners too. I’m thoroughly enjoying working my way through the recipes.

Should be called ‘recipes that use a baking tray, at some point!’
I’ve given this 2 stars because I’ll admit some of the recipes sound nice. However the title is very deceiving! I was recently ill and wanted a cool book that would be easy for my husband to follow, such as recipes that involve chucking everything into a tray and cooking it....which is what the title suggests! Well it wasn’t this. And as I named my review title, there is just a tray involved in the cooking at some point! Alot of prep is needed for many of the recipes, including pastry, fillings, and some pre cooking. All of which, my husband (although he tries!) is quite incapable of! The idea of the book is great, just a total Shame the recipes don’t reflect this.
