Jolly Green Giant - clears even sweetcorn from your pipes!
It happens, whether it's toothpaste and soap or whether, like me, you suspect the actual culprit is that exceedingly expensive cleanser you wash your face with eventually the sink water starts flowing slower. And slower. And slower. However for the first time mine came to a complete and resounding stop. First I reached for my usual fix, the one that loves the jobs I hate, to no avail. The gel just kind of floated in the standing water in the pipe (even after I'd cleared out as much as I could) and then I tried the au natural method with bicarbonate of soda and vinegar. Again nothing but a fizzy mess that resembled a Year 8 science experiment. So I searched for a solution, so many blog posts told me to "simply" unscrew the doo dad and pull it from the sink. Well I don't know about you but I have a pretty basic sink and everything is stuck down. And then that word popped up on my 35th list of tips for clearing a sink (I swear everyone really trusts that bicarb to do the job) ....plunger. This led me swiftly to amazon and the reviews led me to purchase this monster. What a monster it is. Reviews telling you it's large can't prepare you. Pictures next to rulers cannot prepare you. This is the Godzilla of plumbing accessories but let me tell you it smashes through clogs like a giant lizard in Tokyo. It was a little tougher than other reviews promised me but I can only assume this was because of the sheer size of my clog. And thank god I followed the advice to cover the overflow. WHATEVER YOU DO COVER THE OVERFLOW. However after 5 or so minutes of good solid plunging (think of it like performing CPR - do it to the beat of Staying Alive) the clog is no more. For the first time in over a week I wash my hands, brush my teeth and use my ridiculously overpriced cleanser in the bathroom again instead of standing over the kitchen sink every morning. And in future I can use my green giant at the first sign of a slow flow thereby never needing to put money in the pocket of Mr Muscle ever again. Master Plunger indeed!

Looks ridiculous, works brilliantly
I was impressed by the reviews for this thing and having now bought and tried it I can say that I heartily agree, along with one warning: this thing is NOT small. That said, its capacious mouth means it has managed to clear every slow-draining sink in my house (there were a few) in seconds, where dozens of litres of various bleaches and drain-unblockers had failed. The corrugated chamber means you get a huge amount of pressure with each push and pull, so make sure you remember to block any overflow holes in the sink/bath with a (gloved) hand - the first time I forgot and propelled nasty water the whole way across the room! And then felt sad. Although it will take up a fair bit of space in a cupboard and looks like some kind of cross between a space-hopper and a pogo stick, it is ridiculously good at what it does. What I had taken to be a case of bad pipes turns out to have been a number of very stubborn clogs that are now (and very suddenly) a thing of the past. And by way of a minor proxy review/anecdote: Stopping at the pub on my way home from work (that's where it was delivered - I haven't decided to tackle the world's plumbing problems!) with this sticking out of my bag, the landlord came over and said "Is that a massive plunger or are you just pleased to see me?" Once I'd assured him that, while I'd welcome a pint, it was just a massive plunger in my bag, recognising the distinctive colour, he added: "Is that that big corrugated one? Got one myself. Best plunger in the world mate. Stupidly good. You made a good choice." I couldn't agree more.

A must for the home
Photographs of the original plunger to date included. I’ve been using this plunger for a number of years, it first caught my attention whilst at work in a heavily public used area. Why?. Because of its over size & very heavy duty appearance. This plunger is worth a second look before you consider moving on, try to avoid being seduced by cheaper options. This is an oversized robust plunger that will take a lot of punishment & shows little wear or deterioration to the stem or body neck even in regular use. You will notice the plastic body to be above average thickness. ( I believe it’s made of POLYETHYLENE ). The secret to a good plunger is to create down force, suction & a good seal,it’s important for the entire body to remain stable & sturdy as you tackle the blockage, this plunger has it in abundance. Because it’s oversized which is much appreciated when dealing with disagreeable solids or splash back it will cover & seal the problem adding superb suction to the blockage. The entire plunger is easy to clean with a very smooth inner & outer surface throughout very hygienic, for that reason if you choose to go elsewhere do avoid wooden stem plungers you never know what germs are in bedded in the wood grain under regular use. Furthermore rather than spending money on expensive harsh unclogging chemicals that may or may not work & potentially be hazardous to health & the environment consider a safer option. Do check the dimensions of the plunger & all the different areas your going to use it in around the home before you commit I keep two in my home one for the toilet bowl & the other for all sink's this action avoids cross contamination & of course, clearly marking both with a felt pen. My plungers have already payed for themselves in plumbers fees ! They’re not cheap, but they do give me outstanding performance every time & impressive longevity. Is there any point to giving house or shed room to tools that don’t get the job done? I’ll leave that one for you to ponder on.

De loin beaucoup plus efficace que les ventouses classiques. J'étais sceptique surtout vu le prix, je trouve ça cher malgré l'efficacité. En tout cas ça fonctionne très bien
