The Gladiator Series Serrated Bread Knife features an ultra-sharp blade forged from a single piece of imported high quality German high carbon steel. Hand sharpened to between 16-18 degrees with excellent wear and stain resistance for exceptional results and edge resistance. The Gladiator Serrated Bread Knife is best for cutting hard and soft foods including but not limited to crusty breads, tomatoes, watermelon, pineapple, grilled meats and more, all without tearing. The hand polished, satin finish blade is paired with the ultra-durable and tactile G10 handle, ensuring you never lose your grip in the heat of culinary battle. A BPA-free PerfectFit knife guard is included for blade protection.

The supplied sheath is a snug fit and will protect the knife in the drawer (and your fingers!) This is by no means a delicate knife, so maybe not suitable for making sandwiches as another reviewer has complained about, but definitely the right one to cut the slices from the loaf. I would suggest a 'Tomato Knife' for assembling the sandwich. Quality knife that cuts through the crustiest loaves with ease. It has a hefty rigid well finished blade with a comfortable handle. The supplied sheath is a snug fit and will protect the knife in the drawer (and your fingers!) This is by no means a delicate knife, so maybe not suitable for making sandwiches as another reviewer has complained about, but definitely the right one to cut the slices from the loaf. I would suggest a 'Tomato Knife' for assembling the sandwich. The knife feels beautifully made and nice to use. Very sharp as would be expected. The knife comes in a lovely presentation case and would be ideal as a gift. I used to own a set of Gustav Emil knives, and these are defiantly of the same quality. I will be purchasing more from this range. Absolutely worth the money.
