Can an electric towel radiator (that says needs to be hard wired to a 5 amp fused spur) be safely connected to this? thanks

Yes. It is essentially a fused spur with a built in timer and is very convenient to use. It also sorts itself out on changes to and from BST. Our first one was provided by an electrician and this led me to purchase a second one for another room for an electrician to fit for us whilst doing other things.

is this used to replace the spur that is usually connected?

Hi, Yes, this will replace the spur on the wall. Kind regards Jack

Fst24and fst77 what is the difference ?

Think the only differnce is the 24 is a 24 hour timer and the 777, a 7 day timer size is I think the same

Hi, When I switch the unit on, the switch momentarily flashes. Is this normal?

It's because the contacts inside are closing onto load. The bigger the load, the bigger the flash. It's perfectly normal.
