Review: Speedy service, Excellent Quality Product! - Very rarely do I write a review on the sellers because I have had some very bad experiences buying online. So when I was shopping online for a PS3 controller I had some trepidation, not to mention some questions about the price being the same as retail stores. Then I stumbled upon the reason I was looking to get a PS3 controller, to play Mortal Kombat with my partner who loves the game. She's not a keen gamer like myself so I wanted to get her something she would like. I already own the game on the PS3 but lack the aforementioned controller. Shamin's Games Shack was a blessing in disguise. Not only was the game really good value for money, I mean the price alone had me wary as well as the expected delivery time was in the region of 14 days. To my surprise and delight the game arrived this morning 9:50 to be precise, carefully shipped in a bubble wrap envelope and the game is factory sealed. Not only was the delivery speedy (I ordered the game on Saturday night, so the order was despatched on the business day Monday), the fact that the game is sealed and for such a good price means that I will be recommending SGS to friend's as well and will DEFINITELY be using them again for future business. Highly recommended. Very satisfied customer who has reaffirmed my decision in purchasing online again. Thank you. Having played Mortal Kombat before I can confirm that the game is fast, bloody and definitely fun to play. The action never lets up, the story is cheesy but that just makes it funny and the controls are thumb numbingly smooth. A few hours into this and it does take it's toll on the hands so rest up every so often. This took me back to my childhood in the arcades and stores where I would play the game all afternoon after school. If you like beat-em-ups then this game ticks all the boxes. The replay value will always be there as no two fights are ever the same, the challenges breathe a fresh air of life to the game as well. And the game is even more fun when playing against a friend or partner as well as jumping online to play with friends or strangers!
Review: Return of the King - Mortal Kombat. The first game, released in 1992, was like a playable early-eighties Kung Fu movie. You had a tribute to Big Trouble in Little China, mixed with Enter the Dragon, mixed with The Five Deadly Venoms, mixed with -- most importantly -- the movie Bloodsport. For these things, we all loved it. And though it didn't necessarily flow as smoothly as the previous years' legendary Street Fighter II, its atmosphere of mystical and deathly Shaolin lore more than made up for it. While over the years, Street Fighter seemed to go from merit to merit, Mortal Kombat waned and became convoluted. It became silly -- a caricature of its once serious self. It was no longer about Kung Fu, honour, or Shaolin Temples, it became a gothic soap opera with a bit of karate. Fast-forward to 2011, however, and history is repeating itself in a majorly good way. A new Mortal Kombat has been released in the wake of Super Street Fighter IV. It returns with its mystical Kung Fu feel. And just like in 1992, the two games match each other as prime contenders. If there is one core difference this time around, it's that this latest Mortal Kombat has done away with the over-simplified "kombat" mechanics of predecessors to opt for giving each character physical and visually distinct fight styles. The game is also the fastest and most intense installment in the series. Some of the fights'll have people forgetting to breathe. On the single-player side of things, the game is chock full of things to do. There's a Challenger Tower filled with 300 different tasks to complete, as well as a movie-like Story Mode which, oddly enough, takes the player through the Mortal Kombat story of games I - III. Alternate costumes are free and unlockable, and a tag-team mode is also available for up to four players. Overall, worth more than 40 quid. The best Mortal Kombat game since MKII.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good game but with a few flaws
*by R***S on 10 June 2012*

Mortal Kombat 9 is a really fun game and probably the best fighting game there is out today, the story mode is surprisingly good,it starts off as a bit stale but progressively gets better, all in all very good. There are 27 total characters to play and that's not including the dlc. They are all unique with their own move sets and powers. The fighting is really good and it flows really well compared to other games like Tekken and Soul Caliber. You can buy fatalities and alternate costumes from the krypt but it isn't necessary as you can unlock them by completing arcade ladder with the character and performing the fatality combo(Thank You Internet). Now to the cons, there doesn't seem to be enough reward in the game, you do loads of hard work just to get very little at the end,an example of this would be that when you complete the 300 challenges on challenge tower you get... a costume,Mileena's Pit flesh costume, which is very revealing but not worth all that time and energy spent on doing ALL 300 of the challenges, you'd expect like Shao Kahn and Goro in the oner but no which is the logic that flows through the game. Also there is no Vs. mode which is beyond me,it could have been added so simply but you have to play the ladder all the time which is annoying because enemies get progressively harder to fight. The difficulty is unreasonable at times and will only appeal to veteran Mortal Kombat fans which is basically who this game has been made for.If you dont have online I think this game has very little to offer but if you do then it's endlss entertainment,Overall a good game which could have been better,I look forward to the sequel.
