“The greatest American Heroes are back”* and they’ve been set up to take the fall for a terrible crime they didn’t commit. Now, the G.I. Joes must once again face their mortal enemy, Cobra, as well as dangerous new threats operating within the government. When all else fails, one option remains: Retaliation. Roadblock (Dwayne Johnson) leads a new team (including Bruce Willis) on this explosive adventure that critics are calling "unlike any action movie you've ever seen. A thrilling ride that leaves you wanting more!"** *Julian Roman, MOVIEWEB.COM , **Raquel Baldwin, Talking Pictures (ABC/CW) The standard Blu-ray is an extended version and is 122 minutes. It features the following special features Review: Awesome action and cool 3D! - G.I. Joe: Retaliation unleashes giant set-pieces one after the other, and they all explode to life with ferocity. This movie spits in the face of logic in greatness! Once the desert base attack unfolds Retaliation totally kicks in and doesn't stop delivering knockout action. When Cobra unleash their deadly attack upon the Joes, and Duke is killed, the remaining Joes go for all out revenge and aim to make those responsible pay. Not only is Retaliation a brilliant action movie it also serves as a great vengeance flick as Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Adrianne Palicki and D.J. Cotrona reign hell on Cobra. I love the new cast, and there are a few surprises along the way too that involve returning character Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes! Adrianne Palicki and Elodie Yung are the sexiest female leads I've seen since Skyfall, unbelievably hot and very talented, and seriously good at fighting. The special effects are magnificent and they are lot more consistent and stronger that it's predecessor, plus the action sequences are mind blowing, the best being the mountain temple fight which was absolutely brilliant, then there's the scene where London gets obliterated that has to be seen just so you can admire the sheer scale of it all. The final battle is so much fun, this is where Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson really kicks into battle mode and brings out the big guns, and the face/off between him and Ray Stevenson's Firefly is pretty good! Bruce Willis has been in a lot of forgettable movies lately, and his performances aren't that great, but in G.I. Joe he's very funny, and the banter between him and Palicki is entertaining. The story itself may not be solid gold, and at times it does seem to go all over the place, but the action and visuals are enough to compensate for that, plus the killer cast make this film even more enjoyable. Review: Awesome action movie - Love this film; great special effects and fight scenes a bit of humour and buckets of ninjas! I've been into G.I. Joe since I was a kid and it was called "Action Force" in the UK and the films really build on the nostalgia with a healthy dose of action movie goodness. Definitely succeeds on its own terms though don't expect much in the way of deep insight or character development; that said it's a quality cast who really commit to the film and is beautifully put together.

G.I. Joe take two
A sequel finally arrives to G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra [DVD ], the movie based on the toy range/comics/tv cartoons of super elite soldiers v evil villains that influenced many a childhood. The first movie did reasonably okay, but was adjudged by some not to have quite gotten things right. Thus this sequel is also a reboot for the franchise, as a lot changes in it. Almost none of the characters from said first film turn up, and most who do aren't around for long. There is a brief bit of exposition at the start which fills in what has happened in the time elapsed between the two movies. This may be enough to help those who haven't seen the first film get into this. Although if you're going to be watching it ten chances are you have seen it, or you're a fan of the toys/comics/tv cartoons, so it may not be a problem. Duke [Channing Tatum] is now leading the Joes, and enjoying typical action movie male buddy scenes with Roadblock [Dwayne Johnson]. At the end of the first film, it was revealed that the US President had been kidnapped and replaced by evil master of disguise Zoltan [Jonathan Pryce. In both roles]. And now he makes his move. Which leaves evil villain leader Cobra commander back in the game. And the Joes presumed traitors and wiped out because of it. However, Roadblock, Lady Jaye [Adrianne Palicki] and Flint [DJ Cotrona] manage to survive. As does Snake Eyes [only other Joe from the first film to still be around, since he's off elsewhere when things go bad]. Can the fugitive Joes survive, clear their name, and stop Cobras evil scheme? Whereas the first film was very much summer blockbuster material, this tries more to be a hard edged action movie. Whilst the villains of the piece are all slightly exaggerated characters, but played just straight enough to make them work fine - Jonathan Pryce clearly has a lot of fun cutting loose as Zoltan and gets some great dialogue with it, and Ray Stevenson does make an impression and pitches his performance as Firefly just right, the Joes are all a bit straight laced and down to Earth. Roadblock being capably played by Dwayne Johnson, but he's no more than a typical role for him. Flint manages to be an even blander character/performance than Duke in the first film. And Lady Jaye is generic female action heroine fighting to get some respect from the guys. Bruce Willis features as the founder of the Joe organisation. But gets so little screen time you never really find why his character is supposed to be so special. And he does play the role on autopilot, being no more than Bruce Willis as action hero. It does have some good set pieces but it does have long moments of the Joes doing non action things with only some occasionally decent character moments to liven them up. But it does in the middle have a superb sequence which draws upon a popular issue of the comic to bring you a ninja battle with no dialogue and fighting taking place on ropes hanging off high mountains, which is very memorable. All in all a decent and capable action movie, but one that could perhaps have been a bit more fun. How fans of the original material take to it will be a matter of opinion. The dvd has the following language and subtitle options: Languages: English, Hindi. Subtitles: English, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, Hindi, Norwegian, Swedish. The disc begins with one trailer, but you can skip it via the next chapter button on the dvd remote. Extras are: A commentary from the director and the producer. Plus three six minute long featurettes, that are all pretty good. The true face of evil: about the evolution of Cobra Commander as a character. The sound of silence: about the ninja battle and the comic that inspired it. Brothers beyond blood; about the relationship between Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow.

ridiculous action, but good fun.
This is much much better than i expected. Having watched the first film i was entertained by the camp cheesiness and special effects, and expected much the same this time around. However instead i was surprised to find that i actually became a little bit engaged in the story and the charactors of this film. That this happened at all is entirely down to the performance of Dwayne (The Rock) Johnson, he brings some much needed charisma to the film, and makes even the most ridiculous moments (of which there are loads) seem important. This is a silly, feelgood, action film, and it is a good one.

Good film
Having watched the first one had to watch the sequel. It’s an ok film. Keeps you engaged. The 3d is very good. A little bit of a cliche’d film. But that’s what it is meant to be. It’s a bit of tongue and cheek. GI Joe here in the U.K. is our action man. It was licensed from the states to the U.K.

Great film
When you think you have to shell our around £10 each to watch films in 3d, so if a family of four go out it's around £40 before sweets and drinks etc, purchase a 3d projector and enjoy these movies like they are meant to be seen, this is a great film and cost around £3.75.

Buena película
Un poco mejor que su predecesora, quisieron darle un toque mas serio pero creo que faltó lastima que dejaran fuera al personaje de Destro pero todo los demás esta bien, es bueno que aun pudiera llegar con slipcover el cual es muy padre.
