It reduces the need for frequent weeding and the amount of time spent on weeding. Westland Landscape Bark can also be used to create rustic natural looking pathways through woodland and large borders. 30-50mm large chips for maximum coverage Helps suppress weed growth Improves moisture retention around plants How to Use Existing beds & borders Prepare the border by removing all weeds and debris. Spread a layer of bark 2.5-5 cm deep over the area ensuring that the mulch reaches under the plant canopy and covers the root area. New beds & borders Prepare the area by removing all weeds and debris. Spread a layer of bark 2.5-5 cm deep over the area. Top Tip: For best results, laying a perforated plastic or fabric membrane under the bark mulch is advisable to further reduce weed problems where perennial weeds occur. Cut an X shaped hole in the membrane and plant shrubs and flowers into planting hole underneath the membrane. Spread the bark chips back under the plant canopy to cover the membrane. Aftercare for beds & borders Remove any annual weeds as they appear. To maintain a good mulch layer replenish the area with fresh bark annually. For use under fruit trees & fruit bushes Prepare the area under fruit trees and fruit bushes by removing all weeds and grass. Spread a layer of bark 2.5-5 cm deep over the area right up the to tree and bush trunks.

I had a big patch to do which was great to refresh my front garden beds and path after a soggy cold winter.It arrived on time. good quality. however i wanted to buy another asap but they put the price up within days. Good quality. so for the second one I ended up buying a smaller one for 13 on desertcart and 70l though I would have to wait to February. Patience can keep the costs down. keep a watch out for the price 100l can vary quickly. good value if you can get 100l for 15

A: Official Westland Garden Health website says one 100L bag covers:
4.5sqm at 2.5cm deep (which is basically one layer)
or
2.5sqm at 5cm deep

A: Hi, This bark is 100% Sitka Spruce and has a natural woody colour in shades of brown, the decorative wood chip product which was terracotta stained is no longer produced by us. We hope this helps, Kind regards, The Westland Team.

**Q: Would this attract cats like large litter tray**
A: Putting down bark chips makes no difference. If the local cats have no litter trays, they will look for somewhere 
secluded and soft on their buns to do poos, just like humans. Bark chip when fresh has a strong scent, so it masks the smell of faeces but that's all.

100l for 15 pounds only. jan 26. very very good value so bought this. I had a big patch to do which was great to refresh my front garden beds and path after a soggy cold winter.It arrived on time. good quality. however i wanted to buy another asap but they put the price up within days.
