A significant feature is that the device presents as a regular wired headset to your pc. Therefore, despite my work computer having restrictions for things like bluetooth headsets, this wireless headset still works. As long as your computer will work with a normal usb, wired, headset then you should have no problems. You also do not need to install any software for use with Skype/Lync, the headset is recognised by Windows (well Windows 7 for sure) and just connects automatically when you remove the headset from the cradle to start a call. You can also still access various advanced features (like turning off the mute tone, which intermittently beeps all the time you are on mute) through the headset buttons, again no software required. I cannot comment on DECT connectivity as I do not have this requirement.
