Excellent item - so far have had no rejected sponges and can only attribute this to the Creaming Beater. Well made (although expected from Kenwood) and easy to clean. Works well, not too heavy and fits nicely into the mixer.

This is a superb gadget. I've had my Chef for over twenty years. In business jargon I would say that this beater represents a step-function improvement in performance! It wipes the sides of the bowl as it beats. I have found that 1) It saves time and effort in not having to stop the machine to wipe around and incorporate mixture that the K beater blade used to miss 2) It seems to be more efficient, taking less time to mix 3) It is much better with small quantities than the standard K beater 4) All this AND it's okay in the dishwasher. It's a bit of a fiddle at first mastering putting the silicon blade on and off for the wash, but very simple once you get the knack of stretching it a little. It comes with a spare spindle so it can match earlier machines like mine which have a small O ring. It's easy to spot which one you need and very easy to change and adjust to make a good fit with your bowl. All of my Kenwood owning friends are jealous and want to get one. Happy baking everyone!

Brilliant product. It really makes a difference especially when making buttercream or lighter cake mixes, it scrapes the bowl and I don’t need to stop the mixer. It’s much better than the old Kenwood silicone beater as it no longer has the ‘K’ shape which used to hold lots of mixture in the gaps, so it’s easier to clean. It also comes with two silicone paddles which are interchangeable. Well worth the money!

Item is a genuine Kenwood AT502. Much better than the K-beater for buttercream and cake mix and so it's a shame that it is so expensive and doesn't come with the mixer in the first place. A note on the listing - some marketplace sellers are selling the retail boxed versions complete with instructions, spare pin and adjustment tool. Others are also selling the genuine part (obtained from de longhi, the Kenwood brand owner), but not in the branded box and without the spare pin and adjustment tool. Technically both versions comply with the Amazon listing as whether retail boxed or not they are both genuine Kenwood parts, and the listing doesn't make mention of the other spares that come in the retail boxed version. For this reason I think the listing is slightly misleading/frustrating as you won't know which 'version' you'll get until it arrives. I've purchased this item twice and received the retail boxed version once and the unboxed one once also. I returned the unboxed one as I wanted the spare tool and pin, but I can imagine this is frustrating for the seller too.

Have used this several times now, and it is the business. I didn't have to adjust mine for depth or accuracy either. It swipes the side of the mixing bowl in it's orbital pattern perfectly, meaning ingredients don't get stuck on the side and missed. You do however, have to occaisionally remove the beater and wipe ingredients off the back side of the silicon blade, which get stuck there. There is also a small 'dead' area in the middle inside of the beater which at the bottom of the U-shap, which can also collect ingredients. However, all that aside, this is a must have item for beating ingredients together, and saving you all the time and energy it would otherwise take.

If you're like me and you love baking cookies, order one of these right now. You'll never have to scrape the bowl again - just dump in the ingredients, set it and forget it! Wonderful! SO much better than the K-beater!

Terrific scraper beater for Kenwood Chef. It does a great job at scraping down the sides of the bowl when making desserts, etc. Highly recommended, terrific seller.
