Just had to cut holes the right size using a hole saw - they slotted into place easily and sit firmly, nice and flush with the plinth. They've been in place over a year and I've had no problems at all. I have them connected to a presence detector so that they come on at night as low-level feature lighting, but they're actually reasonably bright.
