Comfortable from the start, good suport, light weight, good grip and appear well made. Great value for the money. Yes they are built to a price, but I've been wearing them for casual walking around for 3 months and I can only say for the money these are brilliant, the fit is nice and wide, they are super comfortable, the bed is a bit thin but it doesn't affect the comfort for me. They're not showing signs of wear, I've got them soaking and they didn't leak. For low level path walking these are ideal. Description isn't clear?** A: Yes, they're waterproof. I walk 15,000-20,000 steps a day in them, across all terrains, and they are the best I've ever owned. **Q: Are they good for walking in streets too or just nature walks?** A: Yes they are fine. Walking on the beach after the tide has gone out perfect. **Q: Are they ok for broad feet** A: I would say NO and advise you to look for H Fitting shoes/boots or at least items that actually do state BROAD FITTING. Also, I would advise a plain front to the shoe, highly rounded with no stitching at the sides, no bumper guards or panels - nothing that can stop your feet from spreading whilst walking etc. To avoid metatarsal problems it is advised (sounds silly but it's not) to have a sole plate that does NOT flex easily, in other words if you can flex the shoe in half don't buy it. Try to find a shop that specializes in serious walking, climbing, trekking shoes and boots and listen to their advice. Also, buy the proper after care products too and write down any instructions about drying, polishing, cleaning, waxing, dubbin-ing etc. Make sure there's enough room inside the shoe/boot for 2 pairs of socks and also for any orthopaedic inserts that you may wish to add at a later date. Unless you pay more than £125 for a pair they may only last 1-2 years whereas the more expensive ones may last 5-6 years. However, if you don't keep on top of waterproofing most boots will leak after only a few months. They're very lightweight, like trainers, but much more substantially constructed with deep treaded soles & supportive uppers. The outer material isn't waterproof, but offers a lot of resistance to penetration of wet into the plastic inner lining. They're not the most protective hiking footwear available, but for the price & for doing any sort of cross country hiking other than mountaineering, these shoes are about as good as you'll find. It's a shame that the soles aren't made from a more hard wearing material because they do degrade noticably with use.
