I am considering using this product on an old 19th C kitchen chair. The chair needs cleaning up. I'm concerned that this balm might ruin the patina?

I would be surprised if this product were to do anything other than enhance the appearance of the wood. You could always try a small patch in a less noticeable area first to make sure, but I doubt it would remove the patina, although it will clean the wood.

Does this work on outside teak furniture and if so which colour top would be best.

I am afraid I haven;t tried it on teak. I use the light colour on pine, maple and light oak and it is brilliant. I would try the light one first as it is unlikely to harm it and I would assume the dark one is for woods like mahogany. I suspect the manufacturers willl have a helpline if you Google them and they will advise.

What is the differance between the red & green tops?

I use the green topped wood balm on light oak furniture. I believe the red top is for darker wood.

Will it remove water marks on waxed pine?

It should help to blend in, but may depend on how highly waxed the surface is. It worked on old chest of drawers, but I've never used it on modern waxed furniture which is a bit too bright and gingery coloured for me.
