**CERTIFIED FRESH on ROTTEN TOMATOES** Rumble: The Indians Who Rocked The World is a revelatory documentary brings to light the profound and overlooked in uence of Indigenous people on popular music in North America. Focusing on music icons like Link Wray, Jimi Hendrix, Bu y Sainte-Marie, Taboo (The Black Eyed Peas), Charley Patton, Mildred Bailey, Jesse Ed Davis, Robbie Robertson, and Randy Castillo, Rumble: The Indians Who Rocked The World shows how these pioneering Native American musicians helped shape the soundtracks of our lives. Review: Great Documentary - Great documentary, amazing music, with great, true insight on the artists. Review: Excellent documentary - Excellent film. Lots of interviews. I really appreciate the information on the history of people such as Charley Patton. I especially liked the recognition the film gave to the great guitarist Jesse Ed Davis

Extraordinary film!
This is an extraordinary documentary about the contributions of American Indians to both rock n' roll and the music of the United States. As stated elsewhere, this America de los Indios, like any other land has its own unique song in its heart and soul, the indigenous people who have inhabited it for more than 15,000 years, its spirituality, hopes and dreams, and the courageous struggle to survive Euro-American genocide. Link Ray, Redbone, Buffy-Sainte Marie, the late Robby Robertson, and many, many others have enriched the music and culture of this nation for centuries. Also, Mexicans are an indigenous people! Mexico had 80% (80 million) of the estimated 100 million when Europeans invaded; and even today, it has more indigenous and mestizo people than all the continent of American put together. This doc should be shown in schools, community centers, and to ethnocentric politicians.

Definitely worth watching
I came across this film on Prime Video and I have to say that in my 77 years on Earth this is one of, if not the best documentaries I've ever had the good fortune to see. This film is a great history lesson for anyone and a must see for those who love Rock, Blues and Jazz. There was so many uplifting moments as well as heart wrenching information that I wasn't aware of and had never come across in any of the history books that I've read. I seldom purchase DVDs anymore but I purchased this one shortly after I viewed it.

A great, eye opening history and a lot of great ...
A great, eye opening history and a lot of great music. I never realized just how many popular performers are of Native American descent. The American entertainment industry should be embarrassed that they discriminated against Native Americans forcing them to hide their heritage so as to get work. Pat and Lolly Vega of Redbone had to pass themselves off as Mexican in order to get work as musicians during the 60's. Native Americans contributed tremendously to Rock and Roll and most people are totally ignorant of their contributions. Even Charley Patton, "The Father of the Delta Blues", was of mixed heritage with a Cherokee grandmother according to many historians. Howlin' Wolf, who was mentored by Patton, had said Charley was white, black and Native American. Many historians have said Patton was 1/4 to 1/2 Choctaw. Link Wray was Shawnee and is the "Godfather" of distortion and power chords. One has to wonder how Rock and Blues would have developed and how they would sound today without the involvement of Native Americans.

History that was not taught in school.
This is an excellent historical DVD about Native culture, their contributions, and stolen legacy. Young folks should pay attention to the excellent interviews with the original Americans. I've watched it two (2) times and plan to have a family gathering to watch it again with me for discussion. Not only is this DVD educational, but it is also excellent entertainment.

Entertaining, educational, revealing & inspiring music documentary. One of the best since 1976’s The Last Waltz. Multiple award winner, I viewed at both Palm Springs IIFF and First Nations film festival in Cathedral City. RUMBLE is extremely well produced and edited. With 25-30 hours of film condensed into 102 minutes, expect within a year or so to view on tv some of the edited film not making final cut. The impact indigenous people have had on North American music is quite profound and overlooked- until now! You will not be disappointed regardless of your musical taste by this Canadian production.

Je le recommande à tous les amateurs d'Histoire de la musique. Très intéressant et informatif sur la place méconnue des Indiens d'Amérique dans la musique américaine (blues et rock).
