Brilliant all round Camera.
After many hours of research for a new camera I decided on this one. I like taking photographs and try to take nice ones but saying that, I'm very lazy and can't be bothered too much to mess about with settings so I need a camera that can do everything to a reasonably good standard on Automatic with the abilitly to occasionally go into deeper refined settings and the FZ82 does not disappoint. actually it exceeds my expectations. I like taking landscapes, flora and fauna the kids. I'm self employed and need to take good pictures of the items I make and sell online and for the relevant social media. The wifi connectablilty is easy and works perfectly with my phone. The zoom is great. the optical 1200mm is amazingly clear and then you can go even further with the digital zoom which is quite good however your better off sticking to the optical and then cropping and enlarging as that is better quality. The image stabilising is great very steady. The very best thing of course is that you have so many more picture opportunitys available that you would never get without having a shed load of gear. and then by the time you've set it up you,ve probably missed the photo. Picture quality is excellent It produces very sharp images and colour reproduction is incredibly accurate. The only minor negative Ive noticed is the Bokeh (the out of focus background areas) is not as nice nor easy to achieve but I haven't really explored the manual settings as yet which may yield better results Its not too big and very light and feels comfortable to hold. The electronic viewfinder works well and I have glasses which I've found to be problematic in the past. Its very quick to fire up. The touch screen is handy too. In summary If you want a camera that ticks all the boxes then this is it.

A worthy successor to the FZ72 ...
Had this for a few months now. Cameras like this are always a trade-off. Yes, the sensor is small in size, but they haven't pushed the megapixels too far, which will help with noise at higher ISO values, and the advantage of a small sensor is that you can have a huge zoom range. The EVF is much better resolution than the previous FZ72, albeit it could have been a larger image in the viewfinder. Of course many compacts and even some bridge cameras have no viewfinder at all. The rear screen is also a touchpad, so you will need to use it to access some functions. In many respects, the FZ82 is like the FZ72. Some differences are relatively small tweaks. The creative retouch has been dropped, but such effects can easily be applied to downloaded images. In its place, there is a new healing-style retouch, but its usefulness is similarly reproducible elsewhere. On the other hand, the focusing and operation of the FZ82 is noticeably faster (although it still takes a second or so to turn on) The new wifi capabilities are useful, but could have been better, with an easier transfer direct from camera to laptop. Where the FZ82 excels is in relation to its extended video capabilities, the benefits of which are not limited to video. It will shoot 4K video at 30fps. It can also shoot HD at 100fps, or FHD at 60fps, which can then be replayed at 25fps or 30fps for a high-quality slow motion movie. It will also shoot VGA resolution at 200fps. In the 4K mode it is shooting frames that are 8Mp, and this can be used in a burst mode to capture split-second action. Note that 8Mp will produce a reasonable quality A4 print. There is even a feature that allows you to shoot a 4K video sequence with each frame capturing a different focal depth. You can then choose a single 8Mp frame or combine a range/all frames to get the depth of field you want. And last but not least, you can now take stop-motion animation and time-lapse movies!

It’s good but…
A nice size capable camera, not great in low light conditions, if you want to do Astro photography then you need an SLR camera. The zoom is amazing as you can see with the moon in this video, tons of options, sometimes too many to remember, it takes good quality photos in daylight, the flash is good, autofocus works well in light, not so good in the dark. It’s a good camera, if you want a point and shoot with great zoom qualities, this is for you.

Panasonic DC-FZ82EB-K 60x Optical Zoom Lumix...
been looking for a camera for a long time and did not want to carry a lot of lens about so after reading the reviews and about the camera i chose this one i wanted a camera with a good lens, time lapse and good make,i got the camera and put the batteries in to charge it,to charge it it comes with a cable and plug, this is the problem putting the cable in the camera was difficult but i managed it after a few attempts and left it to charge and ordered a charger and spare battery so i do not have to plug it in to the mains so that should solve that problem, after a few hours the battery was charged and i tried it out, very impressed with the zoom bit noisey zooming in and out but that's not a problem with most cameras i have had they are all the same,i tried most of the filters some had trouble focusing on the subject but seem to take the picture anyway and the results were good,i have not tried out all it can do as there is some mutch,i used the video which was alright,i dont do much videoing so i probably will not use it mutch, the time lapse was good, and the close focus worked great.i seemed to end up with a lot of pictures beeing videos even though i never pressed the video button so have to see what i am doing wrong, the lens cover drops off now and again so i will have to get a filter to protect the lens, the camera feels light and all the buttons are handy but will take a bit of time to know what they all do,i like the viewfinder and use it more than the screen.you can sort or retouch the pictures on the camera but i prefer to put them on the computer ,you can even download them to your phone through wifi with an app which i dont think i will try, there is no gps which people say is a down side but i have that on my compact camera and never used it as it drains the battery ,you can shoot in raw as well and take a picture in both at the same time, there is so much it can do i cannot try them all. it comes with a manual in english but its better to download it and read it on the computer if like me the print is to small to read if you're looking for a camera with a good zoom, time lapse, and other extras this is just right.,

A good camera for the money but is it for you?
I've been using this for about 3 years now, and I give it five stars based on the fact that it has lasted very well and been very enjoyable to use. You must remember that this has a small sensor, it will not perform well in low light with moving subjects and it does have its limitations, but that is the same for every camera from different manufacturers that is built with these specifications. If you are very fussy about image quality and want the best results then you need to spend a lot more than this, but it's not aimed at that kind of photographer. This is a Jack of all trades master of none that is just handy to have with you for a variety of situations. If I want better images I take a camera with changeable lenses and bigger sensors. The video features are pretty impressive for a camera in this price range. This is a perfectly acceptable super zoom camera, if that's all you need, and it is capable of taking some nice photos at a huge range of distances. I advise anyone to do their research before spending money on cameras so you understand what you're buying and whether it will suit you.

Excellent all rounder camera and video recorder
What I really like about this camera it's very user-friendly once you get used to it and find your way around all the features. The auto feature is fantastic and works for most things, close up work is first class as you can see from the guitar lamp in the photo, I even got the moon. Inside the photos are very clear and no distortion. The sound is great too when doing video work. Connecting to my PC was a breeze and transfering files over. I don't know of any bad points since I've been using this camera it's all been good quality stuff. Had it a couple of years now and I am still very happy with it. Highly recommended.

Capable
I bought a Sony point and shoot off eBay with X 20 zoom and I was happy with this compared to a smart phone. I enjoyed the camera and managed to get some great pictures that wouldn't be possible on a smart phone. I then reached a point where I needed manual controls as getting certain shots was impossible. I wanted a better camera, better zoom and manual controls. I looked at mirrorless and DSLR but quickly found out a decent telephoto lens would cost a small fortune. I then looked into bridge cameras and at 1 inch sensors but the cost was an issue again. The FZ82 had all the bells and whistles with the 4k options and when compared to some slightly older DSLR's it didn't come out too badly on comparison sites. I have fortunately found that the image quality is a step up from my Sony even though the sensors have the same 18MP, better Auto focus options, loads more features and better results. The manual controls allow more artistic control and also correction if auto doesn't quite look right. There is a big step up from a more basic camera and to take good photos you do need to spend a lot of time knowing how to use all the settings. To start with I wasn't very impressed with the camera and thought of sending it back but that was just me feeling not very confident with it. As I have practiced and played around I have been able to get good photos and the 4k options are what boost the camera and enable it to beat a lot of DSLR entry level cameras with the video. You won't be getting award winning pictures with this and low light performance is bad but overall it ticks a lot of boxes for an amateur. For the price it is a very good deal, acceptable pictures that beat smartphones but not something that will replace DSR / mirrorless.

Fantastic features at a great price
Ordered as a gift for my wife. Still early days obviously but she seems very impressed with it. She mainly intends using it for wildlife photos so the zoom on this camera is perfect, she can take photos of birds without scaring them away, scenery mode is fantastic for wide shots of the landscape. Have not tested it in low light yet but we will do soon to check how well it works in low light. All in all a fantastic quality camera, produces far better results than her phone which is to be expected and not expensive for the features you get. Just remember to order a memory card and I'd highly recommend a bag or backpack to carry it, preferably splash/waterproof to keep it safe. Highly recommend this camera.

Unscharfe Fotos
Bisher werden bei der gleichen Einstellung manche Fotos unscharf, dies ist mir bei der älteren Lumix mit 25x opt. ZOOM nicht in diesem Maß passiert.
