Sellotape Original Golden 24mm x 66m

I have purchased this many times now and is a top quality product with reasonable thickness and therefore not known to have torn in use. The colour is a very slight yellow but basically clear tape. The size is adequate for general use and very sticky which is most important as you want it to work well. It is easy to use and fits well on my old dispenser which is many years old now and still going strong.

I bought this mainly to secure and seal letters, also to stick labels on packages and parcels I send by courier. I use it both on cardboard boxes and plastic courier/parcel bags and it works just fine, it hasn't failed me once. The adhesive on the tape is strong and sticky making it secure and reliable. I use it with a tape dispenser and as you would expect it is very convenient and easy to use. It has performed well for me, I really cant fault it. This is a very good product from a reputable brand and 24 X 50mm of quality tape currently on sale for £1.30 makes this even better value for money. I hope this helps.

It's a yes from me! Love this stuff, used to always buy the cheaper tape to "save money" but always found it worked out more expensive in the end as it takes a lot of working to get it working kinda thing oh and sticks to everything all the while collecting all types of dust. Actual sellotape is much better and I'm glad I thought "let's just buy the normal sellotape as its on offer" I payed £1.30 for this rather than the £2.50 and I'm so glad I did! This sticks like a dream, doesn't collect a massive amount of dust like the cheaper tape and I should also mention that you don't have to use scissors with this either which is 100% more useful and for that point alone I would happily pay the £2.50 for it. In future I'll just stick with sellotape

Pros: Cheapest genuine sellotape I've found Wide (great for inaccurate fast wrapping) Thick roll (should last ages) Very strong compared to other brands (I have had no accidental triangular tears along the roll when used so far, and no struggling to find the end) Con: Slight yellow tinge compared to my last cheaper brand (noticed when quick fixing small school book rips)

What other copycats aspire to be. Great adhesion and standard size means you can be confident that this will fit most dispensers

If, like me, you often try to save a few pennies by buying unknown brand cheaper products only to find somethings are just worth going for the original, or leading brand. Like tape, have you found yourself frustrated with it breaking or splitting as you are trying to use it, it becoming brittle with age, or spending considerable time trying to find its end with your fingernail. Well hopefully I have saved you some time. In this case main brand is the one to go for and here it’s a really good price. I just bought 3 for a dispenser I use often. It’s one issue to find the right product, then running out when you really need it. Christmas is coming up, make jobs a little more easy using this tape. And buy a dispenser if you don’t have one already. It’s one of those little things you wish you had done years ago.

Better Than Expected

My five stars aren't because I am wildly excited about my new roll of Sellotape, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with it, so why not? It came from the Amazon Marketplace Seller san direct, and is certainly the real thing, packaged and presented exactly as pictured. I installed it on a desk-top dispenser last night in the midst of a big mail-out job - well, big for a non-commercial, front room table-top job. The tape of the new roll seemed thinner than the generic competitor that had just run out. Being a micron or two thinner may be a part of the cost of there being a useful 50 metres all on one roll - that's enough to secure about 400 reluctant 'self-seal' envelopes. However, the tape played none of the tricks that a roll of self-adhesive tape can - such as peeling-off to the side, leaving a long, pointed spear of tape to be coaxed off with a finger nail and discarded before work can recommence (only for it to happen again ... and again!). Neither was the roll impossibly tight on the spindle of the dispenser, making it hard to get on and off, as some are. Being thinner than the tape I had become used to, it was inclined to curl on itself and self-adhere (resulting in wastage of time and tape), but with attention to technique in handling that can largely be avoided. The tape adhered faultlessly and the job was soon done. UPDATE JUNE 2015: A new roll bought from Marketplace seller 'We R Stationery' has now also proved genuine and satisfactory.

This was exactly as hoped. Nice, sticky, see through tape - Sellotape, as remembered - and no, I don’t work for them. I have tried to find decent tape all over and the shops always seem to have that thick, gummy, cloudy off-white tape, which they assure us is invisible (if you have your eyes closed), but I find hopeless for wrapping birthday presents, since it just peels off. This tape is a billion times better, firstly it actually does the job of sticking, and does so very well. Secondly, it is more or less clear, and stays that way, so your taping up issues will not show. We just need a dispenser version, thinner version, and one that plays the drums ( well, it would have been nice!) I would buy them all.

Works well enough. Tape feels sturdy with a good 'stickiness'.

I bought it for a stupid reason. I read that some people put it on their foreheads to sleep in, to reduce the appearance of wrinkles. I couldn't get it to stick to my skin. I'm sure it's fine for the reasons it's designed for.
