Much better when using butter icing, put it in the fridge after I apply the first thin coat to seal the cake before applying more on top, leaving the clean scraper in the fridge each time as well. **Q: i am a novice what happens if the cake is taller than the 5 inches**
A: Sorry, I have not baked cakes taller than 5"

**Q: Are the edges of the steel scraper squared sharp or smoothly rounded?**
A: Whilst the scraper has two rounded corners and two right-angled corners (as in the image) the edges themselves are squared off.

**Q: Is this meant to have a slight curve at one end?**
A: The whole scrapper is meant to be flat and rounded on two corners to scrape the bowl with.

**Q: what are the dimensions of this item**
A: 5 inches by 3 1/2 inches
