WOW no spiders!! IT WORKS.
Every single day for the past month, and at times over the last 4 years, my house was plagued with huge 2 - 3 inch fast running spiders. I have never in my life seen spiders so big and I was brought up on a farm! They are hairy, very scary and run at the most unbelievable speed. After doing a google search I think they are wolf spiders. The house was a new build 8 years ago and I believe that these monsters are living in the cavity walls. I have tried spider repellents and even contacted pet control companies, who told me spiders "are not pests" and secondly are not easily killed as they walk on their tip toes, I have spent a lot of time actually crying over these spiders. I can't describe the terror I have of them. In the week before I plugged this in I had seen between 25-30 spiders and had slept for 7 nights with the lights on. (My husband sleeps in a spare room.) The spiders were driving me insane. I received this device at 1pm and plugged it into the landing top of the stairs. I have seen a lot in the living room but also lots in my bedroom. I had been told to expect a lot of spiders over the next week as they might come out due to the noise and discomfort. That night I sat on my bed, with lights on and a bucket in my hand ready to throw it over the spider while I scream for my husband to rescue me. + lots of items to throw at the spiders should I miss with the bucket. I spider hunted while shaking like a leaf all night but not one spider came out. It is now day 5 and I haven't seen one monster lurking. Now considering in the 5 days before I had seen about 25, (6 in one night in my bedroom & on-suite) this clever little device must have made them run. (I even bought wellys to use indoors while I hunted the spiders and vacuumed. The spiders had me terrified) I have a 5 year old and he can't hear it so its safe for children. I put the device on the constant setting and high. For anyone else like me who has a huge phobia of spiders I would really recommend it.

Reasonable Device
Device appears to be keeping bugs at bay, but it is big & affects the other socket in the double socket fixture. Also, if you put it on the random setting it makes loud clicking noises all the time!!!

DO NOT USE IF YOU HAVE A CAT
Please do not purchase this product if you have a cat, even though it says it will not harm a cat, when I switched on the product one of my cats immediately left her dinner (she was part way through eating it) and fled under the bed. Her body language showed she was very stressed and she started crying loudly (the only time she cries is on the way to the vets), she didn't stop crying until I turned the product off. My other cat was clearly not comfortable, his body language changed too. Later, I switched on the product briefly for a couple more times just to check the problem was actually with the PestBye Spider Repeller. It was, my cat fled again under the bed and was crying, she clearly was very distressed until I switched it off. My other cat wasn't happy and slunk along the floor. They are both house cats so couldn't go outside to get away from the noise emitted from the repeller. I just wanted to warn everyone that the information is misleading, the noise DOES have an affect on cats. Also, I haven't had a very large spider for a year (I bought this product to stop spiders appearing over the next couple of months) and about 3 minutes after switching on the product a huge spider appeared on the wall just a few inches from it. It clearly doesn't work, in fact I have a feeling it brings them out of their hiding places (which is what some other purchasers have experienced). If I were able to leave a minus rating, I would. My poor cats :(

Best money I've ever spent repelling spiders!!
Ok, I've had 3 of these installed in my house for 12 months now so I feel I am qualified to give a good review. That and I'm absolutely terrified of the eight legged freaks! I never even used to be able to say 'spider' I have an in-joke with friends and family who know I call them 'tinchy-stryders' as if anyone used the say the 'S' word I would freak out. I have one installed in my kitchen where I used to see 2-3 massive house spiders a day, (big bodies big legs very dark in colour and very frigging fast movers) as my kitchen doors lead into my garage and my back garden, which is close to a lot of overgrown woodland. I have 1 installed at the bottom of my stairs in my hallway and 1 upstairs on my landing. As you can probably tell, I have been so paranoid, they were coming out of my airing cupboard into my bedroom, in my bed, and I was constantly finding them on my stairs as well as the kitchen. During the first 4-6 weeks after installation I saw a lot more of them in my house, this I believe was due to the noise from the machines driving them out of hiding and into my house as they were trying to escape. If you can put up with finding them for a short period of time, and having someone on hand to eliminate them as you find them, (as my neighbour and boyfriend always were) then go for it! 4-6 weeks of seeing more of them is blinking well worth it for the rest of the year tinchy-stryder free. I must say that the plug-ins do not affect what I would call 'harvester spiders' or 'fairy spiders' as my mum calls them. These are the ones with tiny weeny bodies and long skinny legs. They float around really, they don't move fast either. They aren't affected by the machine and I still find these every now and then. But it's nothing a vacuum, a huge shoe, or a loving boyfriend can't sort out. It's the best thing I have ever tried to stop them from even entering my house. I have used 'no more spider sprays' all around my home, and I have placed orange peel and conkers in corners of rooms, and I have used clove oil all around my windows and door edges in the past. None of these things have done anywhere near as much for me as this plug-in has. This was the best ยฃ60 for the 3 plug-ins I bought that I have EVER spent. I am a genuine customer with a huge phobia of spiders, as about 7 years ago I had an infestation of 'wolf spiders' in my bedroom and by my back door in an old property I used to rent. I have been terrified ever since I saw a moving carpet of thousands of them. My fear may be irrational to some people, but for me it's real, and it used to stop me from going about my daily life from August to November specifically. Once it became mating season I was a crumbling wreck all the time. If any of you have an even slight fear of them, I urge you to try this product. It has used maybe ยฃ1 per year extra on my electricity bill, that's all. But the peace of mind this brings me is something I would of paid hundreds of pounds for. If you've got this far to read the end of this review I guarantee you will love and you need this product!

Looks to be working.
I am a real customer, I have not been given one free to review. I have had this for about a month now and it looks to be working. In the past we have had a spider incident about 2 times a week. After installing this unit we have not seen a spider, so it looks like it is working. It is a good looking unit, has a light so you know it is on and it has a small night light on the bottom shining down on the floor that you can switch on and off. Just one criticism, it would be good if the night light had a movement sensor. We have it on our top landing in the open, a movement sensor would make it very useful for getting up in the night. The light as it is is a bit useless as it is a bit fiddly to turn on and off. Would I recommend, yes, it looks to be working.

Spiders be gone or die!
When I first received this I thought it looked quite cheap and was sure it wouldn't work. I have a son who is absolutely terrified of spiders he will be 20 this year and we have always laughed at him but after years and years of watching him be terrified it looks like he actually has a phobia. tried countless sprays (Raid was good) Most of these sprays shoo them away, my son wants them dead not shooed (apologies to all you insect lovers out there) This nifty gadget works. I bought this way back which is why I am only writing a review now so I can tell you it does work. My son doesn't see the spiders so they don't die a bonus! you need to read the leaflet that came with it. If put on the correct settings it is not noisy. Yes I've seen a spider in the house maybe 2 but that could be because I brought it in with the washing. Compared to the size and amount I was dealing with before I will be investing in another one of these if this one breaks and would recommend it.

surprisingly it works
We live in a property that's a few hundred years old and some hideously large spiders were sharing it with us. I bought this product based on the reviews, mainly to placate my wife after she had a bad experience with one of these large bodied spiders. I didn't really expect it to work, thinking that the reviews may have been faked. We have the noisy setting during the day and turn it to quiet at night because it stays plugged in on the landing. It also makes a useful night light. Within about a week, there were no sightings of spiders and after a year or so, it's still working. We get the occasional spider downstairs, but it's the ones with a small body and long legs, which are easy to catch and take outside. No more of the big ones, even with windows left open on warm days, so it must be effective throughout the house. I still see woodlice, so it doesn't bother them. Money well spent.

Definitely better ...
I know I am bigger than them, I know they can't really hurt me,I know its irrational BUT I literally shake with fear, sweat and feel nauseous when I see one of the eight legged demons. Anything above the size of a money spider and I'm a gonna. Perhaps not the brightest idea then to move into a 300 year old house in the heart of the country, surrounded by trees (they love em apparently), at the end of the summer (when they are pregnant and looking for somewhere to lay their evil spawn!). But, that is what I did! By the end of my 3rd week in the house I was seriously regretting it and had convinced myself I either had to get hypnotised or move, or both. A client suggested I try the sonic repeller. Apparently one does the whole house so I bought one plus 3 smaller ones. All I can say is there are definitely less spiders - 1-3 per week (biguns) as opposed to 3-5 per day. After 4 weeks. Plus, there are more flies about so that must mean less arachnids..right?! I am quietly confident that things are improving. I am working on the theory that if these critters have been in the house for a while (er including the nest of yellow sacs - mum and about 30 spiderlings I found under my coffee table hence could only have been there since I moved in in August yuck!) then, if they don't like the sonic waves they are going to go on the move. If I am still seeing them in another 6 weeks I'm going for therapy!
