I found the cut and strip part of the tool tricky to use (my problem I expect) so ended up using the pliers that come with the set but after that the crimping was great. The tool solved the faulty connection I had. Review: Worked great! - Ordered this to fix a cable that was under the floor so really didn't want to have to try and replace the entire wire, had previous experience a couple decades ago trying to crimp connectors on and remember it being an absolute nightmare. Aside from the problem that I had of the broken cable was only using 4 of the 8 wires in the old connector and the wires not being in the correct order (although amazingly the device it was connecting still worked), using this tool I managed to connect the new connecter with all the wires in the correct order (had to of course do both ends) and tested it with the included tester which told me I had done it properly. Plugged it back into where it should and everything worked. Yes the tester itself does feel a bit cheap, when it has a battery in and you move the tester about you can hear the battery move slightly. But really what do you expect at this price? It works, does the job its meant to with minimal fuss. The crimping pass through tool works a treat. The section to strip the cable works perfectly on the cable I used it on, the pass through crimping section worked great. Bottom line: Wouldn't hesitate to use again and recommend to friends.
