Great helmet camera
I bought this because I was looking for a helmet camera that is NOT a shape of a GoPro. The problem with those brick-shaped GoPros and their clones is that if they are fitted on the top of the helmet, I hit them when I flip the jaw up (I have Caberg Duke flip-up helmet). If they are fitted on the side they stick out too much. In addition it's not possible to know for sure if they are filming or not once the helmet is on. Third issue with them is that plastic mount "leg" that holds them to the helmet gives micro-vibration at high speeds, and I had to spend a while waiting for Adobe After Effect Warp Stabilizer to straighten the videos. This little device has addressed all the above problems. Dead simple - move the ring forward/backward to ON/OFF. That's exactly what I needed. It doesn't film in 4K but this format is not that popular yet and I'm happy with Full HD. I tested it at night to see how it performs in darkness and the result was perfect - I could read number plates of cars around me. It produces even brighter picture than my car dash cam that has F/1.4 lens. This camera has an awesome clamp mount that is designed to hold it on the left side of the helmet. However, I have mounted it on the right side (I already have Interphone on the left) without even changing anything. Camera holding tube clamp is symmetric - so can be used on both sides. As a bonus - I'm also using it on my MTB helmet. Minor GoPro mount DIY-ing was needed, but it now can be top-mounted with no problems at all. I have not tested microphones, so have no feedback on them. The below photos show how it looks on both my helmets - Caberg Duke and MTB

Atrocious helmet camera, aimed at motorcycles, impractical for anyone that leaves the garage.
I've had four of these cameras, one from Amazon, two from a high street retailer and my final replacement from Sena directly before giving up and getting a full refund and walking away. The good bits: - Great form factor, exactly what I was looking for. - Robust exterior aluminium tube resists dents. - Mounts to existing Sena Bluetooth clamps, a fantastic clamp for motorcycle helmets. - Basic turn on and record camera is what I want from a commuting helmet cam. - Reasonable image quality. The Bad bits: - The unit is not waterproof. It is billed as rain-proof but all 4 units have all had the microphone fail after being caught in light rain showers. The microphone is inside a small 1.5mm diameter hole located under the slide switch. A helmet camera that can't be used in the rain is absolutely worthless for a UK commuter. - The unit is susceptible to sudden shutdown in low (0c) temperatures. The camera will cease recording mid-journey at times in cold weather, shockingly a brisk single digit morning paired with motorway windchill can kill the recording. Fantastic design for a motorcycle helmet camera. - Dire firmware. My first camera got updated to the current firmware to enable the missing/buggy out of the box looped video recording mode. Unfortunately, the firmware isn't exactly working 100% and reverting loop mode is almost impossible on 2 of the 4 units I've had. - Non-segmented (loop) videos may not save at all when turning off. Original thought to be a memory card issue was later shown to be a camera fault corrupting the temporary video file when writing the video headers. - Multiple videos have corrupted and ceased recording mid-journey, SD card was not at fault but the cause is undetermined. Call it a feature and carry on. - The non-replaceable battery makes it impractical for anything longer than a few hours between charges. Fine for commutes but not a weekend ride. - The slide switch is magnetic based, moving a metallic slide inside the tube. A great idea that doesn't always get detected so the direction of slide ends up alternating depending on how often the slide movement was not noticed. - Optional lens glass protector is not sold in the UK and costs almost £40 to get sent from the USA. A petty gripe but a gripe none the less when you want to prolong camera lens quality. In my honest opinion, this camera should never be used for a primary insurance camera due to reliability or the lack thereof. The only reliable behaviour of the camera observed is the ability to consistently fail either electrically or digitally. You can not expect this camera to always capture your journey and that failure may be the day you're hit by a car. The unit gets 2 stars simply because the physical design is really what an ideal helmet cam should be and for recreational use it does, behaviour prohibitive, give a reasonable video.

Great little helmet cam
Simple to:- Pop you'll need 16GB or bigger memory card, and I reckon the battery life of 3 hours is requires about 20GB; Set to over-write (otherwise the default is to stop on full); Turn on\ off (even with gloves) is super easy. Great daytime reproduction, adequate night time recording. Speaker & mic are very good, especially if you want to Vlog, otherwise you don't need them once you know how the on\ off works. It talks to you for "on" "off" "battery low" advisories. Recharges in about an hour. Both the sticky and bolt on fastening work perfectly. 100% water proof once you screw the back cap on (you can still use mic & speaker). Do update the firmware.

Honest Review.
Used for 5 Months Pros Video guilty is very good nice and smooth Low light / Dark is ok nice and clear Easy to use with thick winter gloves on Small and neat you even notice it on your helmet Light weight bit heavier than my old Stealth drift 2 but a lot better than the hero 5 Cons Not good to install to helmet (I used to screw mount and had to take at least 5 10 second clips and view on pc to see if it was in the right place) I have a 20s so I cant install the given speaker so knowing when it powers down is a pain Formatting the SD card I found hard. If I held the button like I was told it changed my recording mode to short clips. So I always used a pc Also knowing when your SD is full is a pain. Yes I know it doesn't have a Screen but a green light to say full would be helpful You will need tipex. In the mouth if you don't mark a line you might have twisted left or right footage I'm now replacing mine. I have found my battery is not holding charge. Charge all night doesn't last my 50 minute journey to work I have been a long time sena user with the SHM 5fm, SHM 10 and 20s but I don't feel I could recommend this camera to friend
