Okay, I will freely confess that I am no real expert on this subject but, before I face the banshee howls of upset wifes and girlfriends I can and do iron when needed. Certainly as a cadet I had to learn or else. Anyway, my better 3/4 wanted a new ironing board because her old one of some vintage had a cover that was not ideal, being a replacement for the longstanding one of many years. Coupled with getting a new Woman Tool - an iron - She Who Must Be Obeyed wanted a new ironing board as well. Speaking of Woman Tools this is something of a constant source of confusion to us men. We love our tools. Really. Look in a blokes place of sanctury and check out the serried ranks of shiny spanners and neatly arranged socket sets. And yet, when the subject of the equivalent Lady Tools comes up we get nothing but death threats and indications our marital rights might dry up pretty quickly. At Christmas when a bloke gets a brand spankers new Makita cordless drill, chances are he will quickly have some sort of mini fit of joy. However, when the missus unwraps a new food mixer or iron there's a better than even chance the significant other in her life may well find it hard to sit down given what has been jammed somewhere uncomfortable. We men just don't get it. Anyway, my missus wanted a new board and it had to be a decent one or else. And as she we have the same Amazon account using my credit card, this bad boy duly turned up. And, as far as surf boards go it's pretty useless. However, as an ironing board, it's very good. Firstly, it's well made. I know that because my better 3/4 decided that along with the arrival of new equipment for ironing I would be tasked with sorting out the airing cupboard with new brackets and holders in order to give everything a place. And part of that was a hanging bracket for this board which had to be pretty substantial because this is quite a solid thing and certainly no lightweight. Good for the wife's arms I reckon. It's easy to set up with any position in it's range which covers any size lady I've seen. Even in the Far East where I worked...ahem... It has a large surface so any garment is easily dealt with according to my wife and she did tell me she liked the fact that there was no specific iron rest which takes up valuable real estate. The material top won't burn so you can put your iron down anywhere. There is a safety knob which has to be operated in order to collapse this which, is in place to prevent the small people in your life from becoming the small ex-people in your life. It works well and is a thoughtful addition. It's stable. Very stable in fact so much easier to get a move on when you need that dress for the evening out on the razz that's just been washed. The top is perforated so as to allow steam to pass through it making ironing just that bit easier and rendering this as I said before useles as a surf board. Overall, a superior quality board that will make any lady happy to get this on her anniversary or birthday. For any bloke our there reading this, I've just sorted your next pressy problem out.....

After a very dodgy start when this arrived on a very wet evening with the outer box wide open & half disintegrated having obviously been left out in the rain, thankfully the robust plastic covering left it undamaged & I am delighted with it. The Board has a much greater surface area than my old Brabantia Board which is now almost 40 years old & although it is much lighter it is still a very solid, robust board. The height adjustment is great & much more comfortable, so no more backache from stooping over. Thanks to being able to use the entire surface of the board it makes ironing large, cotton king size sheets so much easier & the anti slip cover also adds to the ease. What would normally take me at least 1.5 hours to iron sheets & pillowcases only took me just less than an hour so I am a very satisfied customer. I cannot fault this item.

This is brilliant, very sturdy but not quite as low as hoped for sitting.

Received a replacement from Amazon today and this one is spot on, very stable - so a note to buyers, don't accept a dodgy board, it should be rock steady and all the feet should be flat on the floor, otherwise, return it. It's a great board, the ironing area is huge - but then so is the whole thing - it is a little large to store and heavy to move around, so bear that in mind. Can't fault the design though, very well thought out with the strong curved legs and little features like being able to lock it to the right height so it pops up to that same height every time. Just a shame about the quality issues, not something you really expect from Brabantia. The first board was faulty and wouldn't sit flat on the ground, the second was fine from this perspective but the cover and underlay on the board was seemingly permanently creased and wrinkled from being ruffled up in transit. So I took the good cover from the wonky board and put it on the good board and now I have what I would consider to be an acceptable quality Brabantia product - finally! Because of the quality issues, it loses a star. ===Original Review=== This is an interim review, as Amazon are sending me a replacement, if my experience improves I will update it. However the situation at the moment is that I've paid £75 for an ironing board that wobbles uncontrollably when I'm ironing. When I set the board up, one of the feet is over an inch raised from the ground, so the board is completely unstable. I've tried it in several location on several surfaces and its the same every time. Very poor build quality. As I say, I have returned it as it was unusable. I will update you when I get the replacement from Amazon.

I purchased this board as I find normal ones too low as I am quite tall. I was not disappointed. It is extremely sturdy and very good quality. The height adjustment is easy to use and I like the added safety feature that stops it collapsing if knocked. The board is lovely and wide which is very useful when pressing seams on my sewing projects. The heat resistant area is a good idea as it means that I don’t have to worry about leaving a hot iron on it and there is nothing to snag the cord. I can highly recommend. Yes, it is pricey, but it is worth it and this board will probably see me out!

Excellent product been using a lot still going solid

I relinquished my cheap metal ironing board for the extra large Brabantia—and could not be more pleased. I chose it for its larger ironing surface because I iron sheets and, sometimes, drapes or sheers too. Also, it was the only extra-wide ironing board that didn't mess up one end with an iron stand (I find that iron stands really get in my way and large items get tangled or pinched in them.) When the Brabantia arrived, I realized I should have bought a quality board long ago: it is completely sturdy—doesn't wobble or shift at all. It can be set very smoothly to any height, even if I wanted to iron sitting down, or if, like my son, I were six feet+. If you have the room and intend to iron conscientiously, buy one. I could not be more pleased.

A tábua é ótimo, larga e estável. Claro que é cara. A Brabantia é cara já na Europa. Mas são produtos de qualidade que em geral duram muitos anos. Esta tábua tem garantia de 10 anos.

Ich bin wirklich positiv überrascht von dem Barbantia Bügelbrett D (135 x 45 cm). Es ist das größte Modell der Reihe und bietet extrem viel Platz beim Bügeln – gerade für Bettwäsche oder größere Kleidungsstücke ein echter Vorteil. Trotz der Größe ist das Bügelbrett angenehm leicht und lässt sich problemlos auf- und zusammenklappen. Die Höhenverstellung funktioniert einwandfrei und sehr stabil, sodass man bequem in der passenden Arbeitshöhe bügeln kann. Zusammengeklappt lässt es sich außerdem platzsparend verstauen, was mir besonders wichtig war. Der Titan Oval Bezug ist ebenfalls hochwertig, sitzt gut und erleichtert das Bügeln spürbar. Insgesamt macht das Bügelbrett einen sehr stabilen und gut verarbeiteten Eindruck. Klare Kaufempfehlung für alle, die ein großes, leichtes und durchdachtes Bügelbrett suchen!

Les plus: Excellent look, un toucher très doux, lisse et qualitatif, un mécanisme de levée très bien pensé, une sécurité enfant, un lieu où l'on peut poser le fer à chaud (qui change d'une structure métallique habituelle), des coins bien conçus pour pantalon et chemise, on peut lever la table très haut, parfait pour les grands comme moi qui ont vite mal dos à force de se pencher ou sinon très bas pour repasser assis. Un système d"enregistrement" de la hauteur préférée qui permet d'ouvir la table et de la mettre à la hauteur choisie à chaque utilisation sans s'en préoccuper. Le repassage devient sympa. Les moins: Un peu cher, mais je pense que je ne suis pas prêt de changer de table à repasser après une bonne dizaine d'années (espérons que la qualité suit). Et un peu grosse: qui est en soi, à la fois une qualité et un défaut. Une qualité, car on a beaucoup de place, permettant d'y mettre une pile de linge sur la table, un défaut en terme de rangement... quoique, je l'accroche là où je mettais mon ancienne table et ça ne change pas grand chose. Foncez, c'est un investissement qui rend une tâche quotidienne à priori pénible... agréable.
