is this quicker than a standard hospital nebulizer which can take ten minutes or more?

Nebulisers do not all run at the same rate. For comparison with others on Amazon, this nebuliser the liquid (treatment) at 0.3mls per second, whereas many others run at only 0.18 or 0.20 mls per second, or don’t say how fast they can deliver treatment. The fastest declared speed I’ve found on Amazon (sorry, can’t remember which, it’s eother a Beurer or an Omron and costs just over £40) runs at 0.4mls per second. How the speed of this machine, or any other, compares with your hospital machine you’ll n,y know if you can find out the speed of your hospital one. Hope this helps.

does this unit have plastic internals, as in fan etc. i want to use it for nebulizing colloidal silver, but if it has a metallic fan (blades) it won't

Not sure what you are asking but I have used this with colloidal silver. The bowl where the liquid goes is plastic, hope there is some sort of help there!

Hi is there a compartment within this machine where I can put my nebs medication in?

There is no special compartment for the nebs but there is plenty of room in the compartment for a money bag within which I store three or four at a time and this works well.
