Great lock, great price.

Great locks but sadly seem to be using cheaper materials than they used to but for thee price it is worth it

First off look at the photo - Yale can't seem to even get the centre of their own logo to line up with the centre of the keyway anymore and it also stamped such the the Y side is stamped deeper and thus more visible than the e side. Thankfully I was only after the lock body and have no use for the cylinder or this would have really annoyed me. Whilst cosmetic this does however bring quality control inspections into the mix as a question. The previous Yale lock this was replacing (this was the replacement model Yale directed me too) feels like it was built better. This one is less solid but does the job. Only been in a week so can't comment on durability yet. Minus a star for a mix of the build quality feeling lessor and the misalignment of Yale

After getting locked out of my house, I unfortunately had to break my old lock to regain entry. I was left with a broken door and needed a replacement immediately. I am not a locksmith and I don't know much about lock mechanisms, so I was worried about buying the wrong size. ​Why I chose this one I based my purchase entirely on "visual matching." I looked at the broken lock and compared it to the pictures of this one. It looked identical in shape and style, so I took the risk. ​Installation & Fit I am pleased to report that the visual match strategy worked. This lock fit exactly into the existing holes left by the old one. I did not have to drill new holes or chisel out any wood. I installed it by myself in just a few minutes using standard tools. ​Quality & Verdict It works flawlessly. The mechanism is smooth, and it doesn't stick or catch. It comes with 2 keys, which is standard but essential. Visually, it looks exactly like the original lock, so you would never know the door had been repaired. If you are looking to replace an old lock without hiring a professional, this is a great, easy-to-fit option.

Easy to fit, but slightly different from the old one.

Great product, easy to follow instructions, even for an average diy person, such as myself. The lock was slightly larger than the lock being replaced. Therefore, the main hole through the door had to be moved (re-cut). Even this was quite simple with the step by step instructions. In the end, a good job. My only beef would be, keys. The lock comes with two. As my household numbers four, two more keys were needed. I would normally pay £10 for two keys. These, however, cost £18 for two. The reason, apparently, is Yale have patented the keys. So, the locksmith has to use blanks that you can only get from Yale. Obviously at an extortionate rate. If I have been given false information on this, please let me know. It took the guy less than a minute to cut both keys. What is the profit margin on these!? Beef over. Still a very good lock.

Perfect extra lock for our summer house, the only drawback was it was difficult to find someone that could cut extra keys because they did not carry the key blanks. The lock only comes with two keys. We ordered extra blanks via Amazon and within a few days had them cut locally.
