One Of The Boys

I am a big fan of katy Perry I love most of her songs cuz well her songs can tell a story and I always get a picture in my head when I listen to her music. This album was soo fab x It could not have been better ;) here are my thoughts on the songs xx One of the boys: 5/5 a fab song to start the album :) I kissed a girl: 5/5 love this song ;) Waking up in last vagus: 4/5 love the song but not as much as I kissed agirl Thinking of you: 3/5 not 2 keen on this one too slow -.- Mannequin: 5/5 tells a story love it! :D Ur so gay: 5/5 this is my fav one the beginning is like a cow boy scene :D Hot n cold: 5/5 it's a really good one but it has a swear word and I'm not allowed to play it that much :( which is disappointing as its really catchy If u can afford me: 5/5 but again swearing -,- Lost: 3/5 don't like this one it's boring Self inflected: 3/5 it's ok but swearing AGAIN! I'm still breathing: 1/5 this one is the worst one yet plus half of it is kinda rap. It's sad and it made me cry so yeah it's the worst one in the album So yeah the album is great and I recommend it 2 Katy Perry fans ;) But just to warn u there is swearing in this album ( hot n cold, if u can afford me, self infected) I don't know why they didn't put a warning of this album. But anyway great album and please please please please check out moviestarplanet my username is Katy Perry lover 123! As a casual Katy fan, I bought this as a bargain for the singles, but loved it for the rest. I was enjoying it so much on the first listen I forgot it hadn't even reached Hot n Cold yet. Favourites include One of the Boys, about a teenage girl blossoming, and Ur so Gay (opening line - "I hope you hang yourself with your H & M scarf" ) and Mannequin. This is a great example of what a Pop album can and should be.

This is a great CD. My children love it, I love it and their nan loves it ;) I find leaving a review for a CD a bit strange because we all have different taste in music and being that I bought it means I (or who I buy to for) likes the artist/s and also when buying a CD such as this - the tracks are listed.. you buy the CD because you like the artist... you like the tracks listed... I don't know... can't really understand poor reviews for CDs on Amazon... but anyway.... I/We loved this CD... Arrived well packaged as usual and was as usual a fantastic price.. Thank you

On purchasing Katy Perry's other albums i purchased this one but to my surprise was not as good. Taking into account it was her first one the only track i like is " I kissed a girl " the others well not so good. I don't want to be hard on this great talented artist but this album wasn't for me sorry.

Here is my track by track review of "One of the Boys" by Katy Perry. After selling more than 5 million copies worldwide, this album has cemented Katy into the elites of pop artists. 1. One of the Boys - The title track, this dance song deals with Katy hanging out alot with guys, but really just wanting to be a girl to be in a relationship with one of the guys she likes. In short, she doesn't want to be just One of the Boys anymore. This song is extremely catchy and a great starter. Hopefully an indicator of things to come!! 4/5 2. I Kissed A Girl - We've all heard it, with mixed reactions. I don't necessarily love the message that she is conveying, but the point is that this song is addicting and will be stuck in your head for days on end...and fun to shout along to!! 3/5 3. Waking Up In Vegas - A Fun, face-paced dance track, Katy Perry recalls a trip to the infamous city of sin with her boyfriend, chronically telling the listener about all the different things they did. It is an AMAZING song all around! 4/5 4. Thinking of You - Whoaaa. Slowww Dowwwwwnnnnnnn. Katy takes a MAJOR turn from the rest of the album at this point with this ballad. It is moving and telling, and I truly love it (and am disappointed that it did not do well on the charts!!) The music video is MOVING, TOUCHING, and you NEED to see it to complete the expirience! 5/5 5. Mannequin - Another slower/tamer song, this song is still good nonethless. "I wanna hit you just to see if you cry" exemplifies the rest of the song, with electronic beats and angsty lyrics. A good song, but a skipper. 3/5 6. Ur So Gay - She released this song a while ago on the internet exclusively, and I have to the say that the lyrics are just...clever!! I wish that it wasn't censored though...because there is really no need...anyways, a funny, humorous track!! 3/5 7. Hot N Cold - Her second single, I would venture to say that this song is the single best song on the entire album. A fun dance song (like many others) and it really exemplifies what the whole album is about--just having a good time!! 5/5 8. If You Can Afford Me - Another fast-faced song, this one is pretty fun to listen to. "If you wanna ride, just name your price, don't play cheap with your heart" I like this song alot as well!! 4/5 9. Lost - Katy slows it down a bit, with the music-box like "Lost". This song is SO emotional and PERFECTLY delivered, which makes it easily the best slow song on the album. 5/5 10. Self Inflicted - Stepping up the tempo (anyone else feeling a little nauseous!!?), this song is another SOLID track. It is almost filler, but if it classified as such, it is some of the best filler on the album (which means...it really isn't filler!!!!!) 3/5 11. I'm Still Breathing - Another emotionally tinged ballad, this one is probably ranked lower than Thinking of You and Lost in my eyes (well...ears i guess). 2/5 12. Fingerprints - FILLLLERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. But still good filler. =) 2.5/5 Verdict, A strong album from Katy Perry, you NEEEEEEDDDD TO BUY IT!!!! You will not regret it!

Ich gebe 5 von 5 Sterne für dieses, in meine Augen wohl beste Newcomer Album von 2008. Wer sich ein wenig mit der Person ''Katy Perry'' beschäftigt versteht wie schwer sie es eigentlich gehabt hat überhaupt einen Plattenvertrag zu bekommen, sie hat Meisterstücke an Songs geschrieben, sie hatte Talent doch die Plattenlabel dachten sie schafft es einfach nicht. Sie wurde von zwei Plattenlabel gekickt, bevor sie zusammen mit einer Ex-Managerin (eines anderen Plattenlabel) zu Capitol Records / EMI Records ging. Wo sie schlussendlich dieses sehr tolle Album geschrieben & aufgenommen hat! Zu den Songs: Katy Perry hat, soweit mir bekannt ist, jeden einzelnen selbst geschrieben zusammen mit Co-Writers wie Max Martin & Greg Wells. Sie schrieb diese Songs aus ihrem Leben heraus was man beispielsweise bei Lost sehr gut raushört. Es gibt keinen einzigen Song aus dem Album, der mir persönlich NICHT gefällt - ist ein muss für jeden der ein Fan von Katy Perry oder Pop & Nachdenk Musik ist. :D
