This is great if you like cooking teriyaki. I don’t drive, so being able to order this to the house is very helpful. Good flavour and quality and much cheaper than buying the tiny ones at the supermarket!

Most people don’t realise that every country has its own way of writing the best before date. In Japan, it’s written as Year/Month/Day, not Day/Month/Year. Think about it — if the label is in Japanese, it obviously follows the Japanese format, not the English one. Anyway, the product itself is excellent! Mirin adds a mild sweetness and koku (deep flavour) to Japanese-style stews. This one works just as proper mirin should. I agree with other reviewers that the packaging can sometimes be a bit poor — I’ve had a few damaged bottles before, but fortunately, none of them leaked.

Hon-mirin which is relatively cheaper than other available choices in the market. Brewed using Japanese and Thai rice, made in Japan, which satisfies me as there are many made in China poor quality products. As an Asian who cook a lot, I think it does its job in many Japanese cuisines well.

Ordered this mirin twice. Fantastic value and a good tasting mirin for the money. First bottle arrived fine and had a 2027 best before date. The second bottle has a crushed lid and a best before date of 2 months time. Who’s using a litre of mirin in just 2 months?

タカラと交互に使っています。みりん風なんとかとは全く違います。絶対に本みりんです。以前はオムレツにはてんさい糖を使っていましたが、最近は本みりんに買えました。角のない上品な甘さです。ほぼ料亭の味です。

煮物が好きなのでみりんの消耗が早いです。みりんはいつも本みりんを使うようにしています。素直でまろやかな味に仕上がると思います。

大容量でなかなかなくなりません。 スーパーで買うと重いので助かりました。
