One centimeter from the tip 2.16mm. At the base its 6.25mm in the middle its 4.17mm. **Q: Which is better for a sub shun bread knife? Fine or extra fine?** A: I would use the fine grit. This will work allmost up to razor sharpness. Make sure you break the grit off, by grinding against the structure of the cutting edge.
