Review: The best Lego game so far. - I've owned every single Travellers Tales Lego game since the very first Star Wars game - and this is the best one in a long time. I'll admit, as much as I love them, I've been a little disappointed by the last few Lego games (other than the excellent "Dimensions", which is a different animal altogether) - the last Avengers game really didn't float my boat, neither did Jurassic World. They were beginning to feel a little bit - stale. Travellers Tales look like they've picked up on this and added a whole slew of new features, while keeping everything that's loved about the prior games intact. If you've never played a Lego game before - I heartily recommend them, they have a very low difficulty and are an extremely relaxing play. They're very easy collect-em-ups, designed for younger players but absolutely enjoyable by anyone of any age. The story almost exactly follows the event of the film (so probably don't play this before you've watched it), but it's filled with humour and Lego charm. Most levels play like an adventure platform game, the goal being to reach the end of the levels by defeating enemies and solving puzzles using Lego pieces, while collecting Lego studs and other in-game collectibles. Once a level is completed, it can be played again using any of the games unlocked characters, each of which have their own abilities, which allows you to unlock more of the in-game characters and other items, and so on. Every few levels there is a 'boss' character which needs a different strategy to be beaten. There are also flight levels where players take to the air in one of Star Wars iconic vehicles (recreated in Lego - obviously), where you can freely fly around a combat arena dogfighting other vehicle. These are particularly well-realised, the flight controls are almost perfectly balanced - I actually wish there was a 'proper' Star Wars game that played like this. TT have added some new mechanics to this iteration of the game - multi-builds allow several possible ways of configuring Lego builds (which are the primary way of solving puzzles in the game) - ultimately there's still only one way to solve each puzzle, but it adds a slight layer of complexity to them, which is welcome. They've also added "Gears Of War" style over-the-shoulder shooting sections to the game, where your tiny Lego friends pop in and out of cover to take pot-shots at various Star Wars bad guys. Again - these are extremely low difficulty (there's an auto-aim which is ridiculously generous), but they give the formula a shot in the arm. The hubs have undergone a revamp, with several iconic planets available to explore and pick up more Lego 'stuff' in. These are also littered with very fun mini-quests, which cover all of the main game's gameplay elements (plus a couple of other new ones), but in bite-sized quests. Another thing that TT have done is create a surprisingly robust back story that fills in some of the gaps of the movie, and genuinely add significantly to the story of the film - even if you're not interested in the Lego games, but are interested in Star Wars, it's almost worth getting for the additional back story alone. TT have done a fantastic job of voice work for this game (anyone who's played the other games will know that the quality of the voice overs can vary wildly - even within a single game), getting a large number of the characters to do voice overs specifically for the game with Harrison Ford, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, and a whole load of actors from the film lending their voices to the game. The scripting is on-point throughout, and really adds to the game's quality, each character making little contextual quips throughout the game. The game itself is a higher quality than the other games have been of late. The bugs, issues and crashes that have plagued earlier titles seem to have been pretty much eliminated (I think I only had one small bug during my whole play through), the graphics engine appears to have had an overhaul, everything looks crisp and authentic, they've definitely done a lot of work on their plastics shader (probably) - it looks great though. If you love Star Wars and / or you love Lego - there's absolutely no reason not to get this game. The best Lego game for a good while.
Review: Brilliant cooperative game to get the youngest gamers up to speed - Can’t praise these Lego video games enough. They are large, funny, mildly addictive and challenging. However the most important thing is that they require cooperation and some wit in multiplay mode. Several times with my own kids and cousins I’ve noticed how they are excellent games for the youngest gamers (4 to 5 year old) to get to grips with the PS4/Xbox controls. Its a slightly dated game by now but the kids keep asking me to put it on.

## Features

- In LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens, players relive the epic action from the blockbuster film Star Wars: The Force Awakens, retold through the clever and witty LEGO lens. The game will also feature exclusive playable content that bridges the story gap between Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi and Star Wars: The Force Awakens. LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens also introduces Multi-Builds and Blaster Battles to the LEGO videogame universe. With Multi-Builds, use available LEGO bricks to open up new paths, then break them apart and re-build them again to open up another! And another! During Blaster Battles, use your surroundings as cover to stand against the First Order.
