QOGIR Snake Guard Protection Chaps: Snake Bite Protection for Ankle to Thigh Snake Chaps, Waterproof Snake Gaiters

Here’s why these Chaps are 5 Star in my view. We live in a very wooded area with large and larger lots not far from a wildlife-protected state park with walking and hiking trails, a lake and a dam. The backs of the lots between us and the park are precipitously steep, wooded hillsides and the woods slope down into the back acre of our lot. My husband relishes this because he is not only a lawn guy, but also a ground-cover, undergrowth, briar and wood-cutting enthusiast. He has recently acquired some irresistibly priced toys/tools. These bargains have inspired him to extend his mild obsession within our own property and beyond to grateful neighbors with chainsaw needs, and on his own initiative along the woods bordering our street despite our having a regular municipal chipper crew. To complete this preamble to my review, I need to add that he has on a number of occasions knocked on the window to show me some big writhing snake he’s holding up by its neck, knowing it totally creeps me out. He always says they are harmless, but we do have copperheads and other deadly reptiles in our vicinity. So now you should appreciate why I am giving these chaps 5 stars: I am expecting them to save him from snakes ans thorns. They are the best I have found to give him serious protection. The fabric is sturdy, they are extremely well made, and they should outlast even a much younger (hypothetical) person, but none of that would matter but for the fact, which is amazing to him and to me, that he will actually wear them!!!!! The key to this 5-explanation point miracle seems to be that each hip-high leg is independent of the other. [Note: Chaps might be the origin of why a person is said to wear “pants” or “a pair of pants” for a garment covering two legs separately and the lower torso, but only “a shirt” for a garment covering two arms separately and the upper torso.] These chaps fit comfortably even over baggy jeans, they aren’t too hot even in sweltering weather, and probably the most important, though he’d never say so, is that they don’t make him look like a dork. 🙄

these work well, however they are a little difficult to walk in. Main thing is they are there to protect you from snake bites!

Not really one size fits all. My son has muscular thighs and it doesnt fit well but he's keeping then.

I originally bought these for wearing during some of my hiking trips as I hike some pretty rough terrain and through some water at times. Once I got used to them, which only took a short time, they fit great and found them comfortable and easy to put on. During my hiking adventure I went through some water areas to test them out and happy to say they definitely were waterproof and feel they had a lot of protection to make me comfortable hiking in some wooded areas. The added plus for me, when I ride my Harley, sometimes the pipes get very hot on my lower left leg. So I wore them to see and they were awesome!! Never felt the heat and I live in Florida and will be wearing these in the summer! Very pleased with product and reasonably priced.

Great product for the money. Fits well and give much protection for going through heavy bush and briars.

there is no protection from snakebite above the calf of your leg.rattle snakes sometimes bite above the knee and this was falsely advertised with protection above the knee.i doubt if you will have production above the calf.this is poorly designed.

These gaiters are made of a high quality material that stays up even in the toughest conditions. I’ve taken these hiking thru forests and tall grasses and they not only stay up but protect my legs from snakes. I’m 5’3” so these cover my legs up to my knees and a little past. I won’t have to buy another pair ever again because of the high quality. I appreciate that!

I bought these because I have property and lots of copperheads. The instructions don’t say to wear pants under them. The first time I wore them, people were Puking all around me telling me I should be ashamed of myself. I showed my neighbor the instructions and it didn’t say to wear pants. He realized it was an innocent mistake and told me to wear blue jeans underneath. Now people smile and wave.
