White Nights Watercolour Whole Pans Set in Plastic Box, Pack of 36

I bought the set last year to add to my collection of watercolours and have not used them up to now. They compare very well with the Winsor and Newton artists colours for less than the cost of the Winsor and Newton Cotman colours (their budget range). The colour saturation is very good, as is the smoothness of the gum arabic base makes them a joy to use. In short, these are the real thing, professional grade paints at a budget price. The plastic box they come in is also pretty good with a lift out palette as well as the lid. It looks to be well made (time will tell on that one. Overall I am very happy with the purchase.

Superior Watercolours. I was brought up and Winsor and Newton , Cotman range and whilst they are reasonable value and very good quality, they lack a little glamour for me. These are full pans of professional artist watercolour and are up there with Sennelier/Schmincke/M. Graham. I did quite a bit of research before buying and looked at a lot of YouTube reviews and demonstrations. These Do not disappoint at all and exceed expectations. I have a couple of other sets on order which am looking forward to getting hold of , but to be honest I cannot imagine that these are going to lose esteem in my view. These would make a fantastic gift for anyone who paints with watercolour and maybe fancies a change.

Love my White Nights set - the colours are so vibrant, and its so easy to wet the paints for a really bright pop of colour. Depending on the style this could be the best palette for you or the worst though: This is due to the lack of very transparent colours. As I have mentioned, the colours are very vibrant. For many more expensive watercolour brands, they are able to achieve vibrancy but still keep the colours very light and transparent. White Nights however I feel achieve this with more of a thicker, heavier pigment. For this reason, when the wrappers say a colour is transparent, I must admit that they sometimes look very opaque. Obviously good control of watermixes can resolve this to a degree, but it seems that with the WN palette, vibrancy may go hand in hand with losing the transparency. This is not a problem for me, as I have taken this into account and use this for my more animated, cartoony drawings, If I am going for something delicate and realistic, I use other brands. My only negative criticism for this would be that as the palette is plastic, of course it has stained from some of the blue and green hues. Not a massive issue, but will mean that I may be looking for another palette to put these pans into soon. Absolutely love the value of this collection. Definitely artist grade for me, even at that price!

I had been wanting to get this large set of watercolours for well over a year. Suddenly there was a price drop and I snapped up a box. It's over 30 years since I last bought new watercolours. My only experience is Windsor & Newton, which are great paints, but can be dry and can lack pigment punch. I had seen others getting a lot of bright pigment out of these paints. I love them. They are so easy to rewet, they are full of pigment and they come in full pans. The pallet colour choice is good, but they do sell open stock too so can be added to if required. I've seen people complaining about the plastic pallet, but if this were metal the whole thing would cost more and besides, this is a perfectly adequate pallet with many mixing areas and the bottom mixing area is easily removed if space is short or you just want the pallet in a different position to your painting hand. Very pleased with my purchase.

These watercolours are just perfect, a little paint goes a long way, the colours are vibrant and last, they are so easy to use, they are by far the best watercolours I've ever used, they are my go to paints! If you are looking for a step up from student grade, or just wanting better watercolour I highly recommend these. They really are great value for money!

--- VORWORT --- Hallo ihr Interessierten, folgend ein kurzes Vorwort zur Rezension: Ich bin kein studierter Künstler und arbeite auch nicht mit solchen. Alle Informationen und meine Expertise habe ich auf autodidaktischem Wege erlernt. Daher bitte nicht jedes Wort auf die Goldwaage legen. --- ZU DEN FARBEN --- Die Farben sind, anders als der Preis vermuten lässt, Künstlerqualität. Bis auf wenige Ausnahmen sehr Lichtecht und äußerst Leuchtstark. Zum Vergleich habe ich die Swatchcards meiner Schminke (ein Mix aus Akademie und Horadam) und meiner Prima-Marketing (Tropicals und Pastels) Farben angehängt. Positiv Überrascht hat mich auch die Tatsache dass viele der Farben (trotz des Preises) Einzelpigmente beinhalten. Dadurch macht das Ermischen von Farben natürlich unheimlich viel Spaß da diese nicht so schnell an Leuchtkraft verlieren. Ebenfalls positiv Anzumerken ist, dass die Farben durch die Bank weg eine sehr schöne Transparenz aufweisen. Lediglich Kadmium Zitrone und Coelin Hellblau tanzen hier ein bisschen aus der Reihe. Erwähnenswert ist vielleicht auch noch das kein signifikant erkennbarer Farbunterschied nach dem trocknen zu sehen ist. Noch eine kleine Vorwarnung: bei dem ein oder anderen Näpfchen sind wie auf den Fotos kleine Luftbläschen zu erkennen. Das ist nicht direkt ein Qulitätsmangel, sondern liegt an der Art wie diese Farben hergestellt werden. Ähnlich wie bei Sennelier kommt hier neben dem Gummiarabikum auch noch Honig als Bindemittel zum Einsatz. Das hält die Farben so schön feucht. Die Luftbläschen sind leider ein Nebenerzeugnis davon. --- ZU DER PALETTE --- Hier kommt der einzige Negative Aspekt dieses Produkts zu tragen. Die Palette zählt zweifelsfrei zu den größten die man so am Markt bekommt. Da sie aber auch eine Menge Farben hält bewerte ich das neutral. Ein (für mich) großer Negativpunkt ist aber die Tatsache, dass die Näpfe nicht fest in der Palette sitzen. Ganz im Gegenteil. Die Näpfe wandern beim bewegen des Kastens fröhlich hin und her. Grund dafür ist ein Spalt von ungefähr 4-5 mm in jeder Reihe. Eine Sache die mich positiv überrascht hat, ist der Misch-Bereich der Palette. Selbst ohne Vorbehandlung der Oberfläche war hier keine Pfützen-Bildung, wie man es von den allermeisten Metall/Plastikpaletten kennt, zu sehen. Hier bin ich mir aber nicht sicher ob das am Kunststoff der Palette oder der Zusammensetzung der Farben hängt. Wie man nämlich an dem Foto mit dem gelben Misch-Bereich sieht verhält sich die Lukas-Farbe (rechts im Bild) anders als die White Nights Farben. --- Fazit --- -> Die Farben sind der Kracher (vor allem bei dem Preis von 2€ pro Open-Stock Farbe) -> Der Kasten ist OK

J'ai reçu cette palette et elle est remarquable. Les couleurs sont intenses et très pigmentées. Très agréables à utiliser. Contrairement à ce qui est écrit dans certains commentaires, il s'agit bien d'aquarelle extra-fine (échelle russe de 3 étoiles, 3 étant le maximum (*** - High lightfastness corresponds to ASTM Class I), Il suffit d'aller sur le site de la marque pour le vérifier. D'ailleurs leur version d'aquarelle fine porte le nom de Ladoga. La version étude s'appelle Sonnet. La palette en elle même est également très pratique (la partie pour faire ses mélanges se détache pour pouvoir être nettoyée. Seul point négatif, le volet détachable se colore assez rapidement avec certaines couleurs et donc ne reste pas blanc très longtemps (mais bon, rien ne vaut la porcelaine pour faire ses mélanges et celle-ci depanne quand même bien) Franchement si vous hésitez à acheter une aquarelle de qualité, vous pouvez y aller les yeux fermés! Le rapport qualité prix est excellent (ce sont des godets entiers et non pas des demi-godets comme on en voit souvent), la qualité de cette peinture est exceptionnelle. De nombreux magasins en ligne de fournitures pour les beaux arts proposent ces godets à l'unité ce qui vous permettra de faire évoluer cette palette dans le temps si vous le souhaitez ou de remplacer les godets entièrement utilisés.

Great quality of pigmented, lightfast colors and probably the most affordable artist quality watercolors. I got mine in good condition, the paints are quite sticky, especially if you stay in a humid environment... But thats normal! Once you get used to it, it is helpful because you don't need to pre-wet the paint to activate them, they are easily activated!

Being a very loyal customer of St Pete paints for about 10y I knew what to expect from this, extended set of colors (used the set of 24 before). Around 90% of the paints came a bit soft (which is great) and only a few where completely dry. The plastic box feels steady and not thick. Highly recommended for purchasing.

Hacen honor a la fama que tienen. Los godets son grandes y los pigmentos estan muy cargados, es decir que estan muy concentrados. La paleta tiene dos partes grandes y compartimentadas para hacer las mezclas de color, una de ellas se puede desmontar para pinerla donde quieras. Viene con un papel de acuarela para poder hacer la paleta de color de muestra. Se disuelven muy bien en agua y se reactivan perfectsmente con un esprai de agua. El único pero es que los godets si le das la vuelta a la paleta se caen pero con un poco de blue-tack en la base de cada godet se queda fijo para pintar pero lo puedes quitar y recolocar en la paleta cuando quieras. La recomiendo totalmente para los principiantes ya que no necesitaran comprar cuando avancen una paleta mejor. Y para los profesionales también la recomiendo. La relación calidad precio es buenisima. La variedad de colores facilita a los principiantes no tener que mezclar tanto colores sin dominar el arte de la mezcla de colores. Seguramente para un profesional o si tienes ya un dominio de la técnica de acuarela con una paleta de la misma marca con menos godetes ya puedes tirar. De todas formas el rango de colores es impresionante.
