It's as good as protein bread can be
It does its job. I feel like toasting it greatly improves its texture and enhances its nice sourdough-y taste. It's not artisan bread crafted with top ingredients and lots of love, so you know it's gonna be a drier and mushier than regular bread; I don't know how people complain about it, it's just the nature of a bread that has near-0 ingredients that are suitable for baking (and raising). Having tried a number of other protein breads, I find this is certainly among the best - mostly because it doesn't have seeds that give it a horrible slimy texture (e.g. pumpkin seeds), it doesn't fall apart when you cut it, it has a decent taste and obviously it has a great nutritional profile.

This tastes as good as the organic rye bread I get in the ...
This tastes as good as the organic rye bread I get in the supermarket but with the benefit of being only 14 g of carb, 11 g of fibre and 20 g of protein, and its vegan. As I am type 2 diabetic on an Atkins style diet I get fed up with eating meat as its hard to find low carb protein sources and miss I my bread. This is a fantastic product for me.. I get my fibre and protein which is a worry for me fibre especially on a low carb diet is a problem two slices gives a third of daily recommendation. Also I am pleased with the flax seeds which provide omega 3 oil. very happy with the product.. The pack sizes are half the size of supermarket German rye bread equivalents .. 250 g as opposed to 500g so its slightly expensive but for me its cost effective as its so high in protein I will be eating less or no meat.

Not for allergy sufferers!
**EDIT** It turns out it is not this bread that triggered my allergy, it was a previously undiagnosed allergy to duck eggs! My nut allergy is to walnuts, hazelnuts and pecans, and have eaten these since (without duck eggs) with no reaction. **END EDIT** I will not mark it down for triggering my nut allergy as it states on the product that it is not for nut allergy sufferers - I will mark it down for having different allergy information on this product page (at the time of writing) than the actual product. Note that the allergy advice now reads not suitable for milk allergy sufferers in addition to the previously stated nut & sesame. On their product information in the description under allergic info they don’t mention milk Normally I ignore the may contain nuts or production process warnings, as so much would be off limits otherwise and my allergy is not severe (just so long as I take antihistamine quickly). I’m allergic to Walnuts and Hazelnuts. Normally this cavalier attitude to my allergy doesn’t cause me any problems, to date this is the only “may contain traces of nuts” product that I have reacted to. Additionally there is a subtle but significant variation in the way the allergy into is presented on the product page v on the pack. On the product page it says may contain traces, on the packaging it says “not suitable for” - I would suggest the latter is more appropriate as it leaves you in less doubt. About every three or four packs I seem to get a fairly strong reaction (for me), instant throat and mouth itchiness and then the feeling of my throat swelling (not pleasant but not as dramatic as it sounds as it tends to be slow enough that AH sorts it out).

Love this bread
Love this bread, very filling still have to watch how much I eat as on a very low carb diet but it satisfies a carb craving when I have one. Think although expensive you get a good amount for your money and like said previously very filling I don't feel can manage more than one slice in a meal. Had an issue when fist ordered however... Was sent bread that was over a month out of date. Spoke with Amazon and was sent another batch the next day which I thought was good service. I would just advise to always check the dates on arrival!

Be careful, check before eating
I bought nine of these as they are high protein. The first two were fine . I just opened the third one and it is mouldy!! I can’t believe it, the best before date is in Sept 2026 so it shouldn't be mouldy. Unfortunately have to throw them all out as I cant take any chances.

Low Carb
I am a Type 2 diabetic who manages my condition by diet and exercise only, no meds. Low carb bread is essential to this. At 5.2 carbs per slice this is an ideal product. The high fibre contents as well as the high protein reduces the impact os carbs on my BG levels significantly. This product is goes a long way to satisfying my carb craving and well as maintaining my levels. I eat it on a daily basis.

Great bread, but recommend you buy it from a local health food store instead
I have bought this bread for years from my local health food store and love the taste.. it is great for a low carb diet, especially when toasted. With Covid lockdown I have had to order it online from this supplier. The first batch of nine was fine but I have just reordered from this supplier and the 2nd batch has not been great: even though the packets are sealed and are all in date the bread taste stale, even when toasted, My best guess is the product is being kept in a warm warehouse or something. So, now the shops are reopening I will be buying it fresher from my health store again . If you are unsure about the taste of this bread try it from a "fresher" source if you can

5 slice packs, perfect for occasional use
I love the fact that each set of five slices are in packs, so you can keep the rest fresh. The slices are quite small. The bread scores well on ZOE and has a good flavour without the additives you’ll find in other bread. The packs I had were in date for another four months.
