Nielsen Massey Vanilla Bean Paste 118 ml (Pack of 2)

I am an keen baker and one of the staple cupboard fillers for anyone who makes cakes should be vanilla. There are many types, make and brands out there and indeed there are the pods themselves. Now pods are the number one choice in my opinion but to be honest there are reasons why i do not use them. Mainly cost and practicality of use i.e. use them soon otherwise they can go hard and can be a little inconsistent with quality and quantity. This paste as amazing and as close as you can get in my opinion to the pod itself. As it says it is a paste but more of a thick liquid i would say. Full of the vanilla flavor provided by the fact it has plenty of seeds in. Lovely stuff and easy to work with/use. I always buy more than one at a time as i do not want to run out. Happy to recommend and by the looks of some of the tv chefs i have seen use it they are too.

Good quality vanilla paste... and there really are two bottles! Unlike vanilla extract/essence which is made with alcohol infusion of the vanilla pod (which might be a no-no for some and the reason I was interested in trying an alternative) this product is made with only a % of extract (so I see that as at least some reduction in the alcohol content) with lots of vanilla seeds (see picture of vanilla paste added to some cake icing, giving your cake/icing the look of having used a vanilla pod) and a sweet taste. It is amazing for the price, when I ordered it I didn't quite believe that it was a pack of two (2 x 118ml bottles, see picture), but I ordered it thinking even if its only one bottle thats still a good price!

DELICIOUS AND GIVES A PLUS TO ANY DESSERT

Like the title says, this really is the best vanilla ever. I use it in all my baking but it lasts so long as its so concentrated and pure you really don't need to add very much. It adds such a lovely depth of flavour to my baking, I don't know what I'd do without it. I can't go back to over priced supermarket vanilla extract that's for sure!

Very nice product, however, I now notice it is £8!!! dearer than it was 1 month ago-outrageous!! I paid £12 for two bottles in November and it's now just short of £20 for the same items. Therefore, I will be purchasing another product..

Love this paste, especially as it's the only proper vanilla you can get without alcohol in it. Used to be able to buy it in super size without it costing a fortune but had to settle on this one; still cheaper than buying the tiny ones at Waitrose!

I make Victoria sponge cakes and always add a teaspoon of vanilla. Previously, I always used the liquid version of this product which always smelt slightly chemically. This item have no such odor and is much easier to use. It is excellent value for money.

Great product. I always used vanilla mart before now but they no longer have any paste available so this is a perfect substitute.

This is by far the best vanilla paste out there. We've been using it for years and it exceeds anything I've ever purchased in the past. I love that the new order I received expiration date is 2028. We don't use it a whole lot but I want to make sure I always have it on hand and the expiration date was a plus. Excellent product.

I use this vanilla for my ice cream and my baking. I knocked off one star for value for the money. It is market value, but vanilla has become very expensive in the last few years. I think this is the best I can buy. I look at the price per bottle. I bought 2 because it dropped the unit price percentage. This changes all of the time so make your best choice when you order. This is very shelf stable so even though it might take me months to use 1 - 4oz bottle, I know the extra bottle will be fine. When I first bought this vanilla years ago I got a 32oz bottle for about the same price as 2 - 4oz jars. Still worth it as it lasts a long time and everything costs more now.

I would like to start by saying that I am a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu Culinary school and I graduated with honors. I love to bake but I focused on savory. I first heard of vanilla paste when I was visiting my mom and she was watching Jaime Oliver on TV. I was curious because it was never mentioned in school. I LOVE IT. I recommend it everyone. It is less expensive than whole vanilla beans (and a jar lasts longer than a jar of whole beans which usually only contain 3 or 4) and it tastes WAY better than extract which I personally can't even stomach. Everyone asks what makes my baked goods taste so good and I credit it to this product. I actually broke a jar just before Christmas and refused to do any baking until I had a new jar. Vanilla extract is terrible especially if you have used vanilla bean or vanilla paste. This is an economical and tasty substitution. It is more expensive than extract but TOTALLY WORTH IT!!!! Trust me, with your first batch of cookies you will understand.
