Excellent quality pen! Sadly my mum died recently- when registering her death the Registrar had one of these pens, which wrote beautifully. I love a good writer- some pens just make your handwriting better somehow and this is one of them! I asked her about it and knew I had to get one. I’m normally a fountain pen fan, but this is perhaps even better. The inks write smoothly and glide effortlessly on the paper. The retractable action is quite cool- had never seen it before. Obviously there are cheaper alternatives and the refills are fairly expensive, but you are paying for quality. Love mine! She had the blue one, and the coating had worn a bit so I went for the silver one as probably less likely to wear off.

Pros: I bought this pen as a gift and was very happy with it when it arrived. I was giving this to someone who is getting into business and wanted a professional looking impressive product that didn't cost the earth. Cross pens I have had in the past and I think they are really good products and this was no different. On receipt of the item it came very well packaged and presented in a dark brown gift box with the brand name on with the pen neatly packaged inside. It really looked the part for a gift. The pen itself is a really nice quality product. Quite often with pens the belt clip can easily become wobbly or fall off and often the screw mechanism controlling the nib of the pen can also become loose. On this product straight away it feels strong and the build quality is excellent for the money. Con's: The pen I think is too heavy and too chunky. Although the product is good quality and it will last a long time it is just too heavy and chunky for my liking. This is personal preference however for me it is very wide for a hand to fit comfortably around it to write comfortably. Overall I would recommend the product hence the 4 star rating, however be aware it is definitely for people who prefer heavier writing instruments!

I have now been lucky enough to own one of these pens for ten years. Bought on Amazon in February 2016. Apart from replacing the refills, it has performed impeccably. It has one or two age related cracks in the casing but it has endured the rigours of hard work, in change management, in financial services over that time. It’s not often one can come back here,10 years later and give this sort review!!

Unusual and attractive design. An easy to hold pen without my fingers slipping down the barrel when writing. As for writing? I find the Cross rollerball refill to be far and away the best of any I have tried. Silky smooth writing, gliding across the page of every type of paper I 've tried, without any skipping or inconsistency of flow. If a Cross refill fits any other pen I buy, I immediately pop one in. Highly recommended.
